Art Institute Of Pittsburgh Online Division A Pain In My a*s Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Internet

Okay here is my experience with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division. I signed up after completing a semester at Kent State. I signed up for the Game Art and Design degree. I currently have been going for one complete year and have a GPA of 3.8 I think. One thing I hate about the school is that my case workers get changed several times without any notification to me. So I am contacting my old case worker and they tell me contact your new case worker and I have to ask them who it is. The financial aid is terrible. Because the school is outside of Ohio I don't qualify for the grants for Ohio. The loans are terrible. They have had me take out 3 of 4 loans for the year. I called them up to ask for a complete price for the year and they refused to tell me. Book money is covered in my tuition about 120 dollars per session. The money shows up in the form of a book voucher which can only be used in the school's bookstore which has very bad prices. I flunked my first class because the school didn't get me the voucher in time.

The teachers are terrible I have had a few that are good but the rest aren't very helpful. Some of the teachers sit back and comment occasionally. I would have questions for the teacher and I wouldn't get a reply in time to do me any good with the assignment. The class structure I hate it is divided into to two types which alternate back and forth. Some of the class days are early in the week and then other times it is on the weekend which really sucks. Also the class content doesn't go deep into the subjects and is speeds over the content. In the art classes you draw what they want you to to for one day then move onto something else the next. This doesn't help build any lasting skills. The courses last for 5 1/2 weeks. You would think that the classes would take more time to cover the subject. It is hard to keep up with the coursework if you have questions because sometimes you get useless teachers who aren't there. Another thing I hate about the school is that they make the students critique other student's work. You grade actually goes down if you don't do it. In my second english class the english teacher sat on his a*s and let the student's critique each other's papers and didn't look at the paper until the final grade. Speaking of english classes the two classes I had were basically the same just with less help from the teacher. The books are overpriced but I went and got them off of Amazon.com. Some are very general. There was a math book that I bought that was 170 dollars and I found the book to be a worthless piece of s**t. Thats right that much and the most it covered with descriptions about certain topics was one sentence the rest was all math problems.

I am currently looking into transferring to another school. I am unsure if any of my credits will transfer if not I am going to be severely pissed. I STRONGLY recommend passing this school by and go to a community college. There is not real interaction with the other students who basically just ignore you. The art classes aren't up to par. I found my high school and middle school art classes to be more useful than this so called school.
