An Ascentive sales person told me that BeAware could be used for free for a trial period and that if I did not use it (the software) I would not be charged. Also since it was a trial period, no charges would show up unless I used the product after the 3 month trial period.

I downloaded the product and tried to use the product a few different times within the first few weeks. I could not get the product to work at all even after using Ascentive's "User's Guide," and making a phone call.

For reasons beyond my control I did not see that I was being charged each month for the service of use of the product. But once I was able to check my credit card statements I saw that I had been charged monthly, which was what the sales person told me would not happen.

I used the live chat feature and was told that my service was canceled and that any "recent fees" would be refunded. This sounded wrong to me so I called the company. A different person on the phone this time (a service support person I believe) said that only 30 days of service could be refunded.

This was clearly misinformation from the sales person I spoke to when talking about BeAware originally or outright bait and switch. I requested that even if my credit card could not be refunded for anything beyond the last 30 days due to their computer not allowing this sort of transaction (the phone support person told me), that I wanted to be reimbursed for a product I had not ever used. He put me on hold and said that his supervisors said that the company's policy would not allow such a refund.

This is clearly an unethical practice/policy by Ascentive. And by unethical I mean that when a person has not used a product, that person should not be charged at all.

It was noted by the live chat support person (DJ B) that (quote from live chat), "DJ B.: The product did not work because you have not used it yet." This backs up my statement that I've never used the product, yet Ascentive is willing to take my money for a product I've never used. This is clearly a "Rip Off" company for taking money for a product never used.

By the way I copied and pasted the entire "live chat" and the e-mail sent with a reference number that showed that service was canceled and a refund would be given. I've saved this information for my protection.

So what does all of what I've said boil down to? It is this: "The customer should *BeAware* of Ascentive and read through any police given before even thinking of buying or using any service or software from Ascentive.
