Aspiration "gives” you an opportunity to open account with their company, although nowhere on site shows bank information or affiliation. Application makes you give a tremendous personal information about your financial information. At every step it confirms your identity, along with other bank accounts. Finally after four "Electronic" checks that your application has been approved, you get a one line sentence that you have been declined after jumping through hoops to qualify for their questionable bank products. Now they have all my personal information and have opened myself for identity theft and other questionable services. They do check your credit report without your permission. Called customer service, talked to Cloie, and was told there is nothing they can do. Couldn’t tell me where they were located or what bank they were affiliated with. Stay Far, Far Away from the hype and questionable business practices.

The security of Aspiration's customers is our top priority.

AUTHOR: Aspiration - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, August 17, 2017

Aspiration is a conscience-driven, customer-centered online financial firm located in Marina Del Rey, California.

The security of our customers is our top priority. We restrict access to our customer information on a need-to-know basis. We will never sell or lease customer information for any reason to anyone. Please see our Security Policy for more information: https://www.aspiration.com/security-policy

While we do not run applicant's credit scores, we do process a soft credit check in order to verify the identity of new customers, which is required by federal law in order to prevent money laundering. This credit check does not impact an applicant's credit score. In part due to these verification requirements, not all applications can be approved.

Finally, the reason we ask applicants to link an existing account is to fund a new checking account with us. Since we are online only, we use this method to get the account started.

Always feel free to email support@aspiration.com or browse our FAQs at https://support.aspiration.com/hc/en-us if you have any further questions or concerns.
