I receive a letter from asurion confirmating the rate cahnge for their plan with T-Mobile and the prices they have it it's extremly unacceptable. they raised the price for me from 2.99 to 5.99 and the deductible from 35.00 to 110.00 USD and if I want to buy a brand new handset it cost me 160. USD and the one they send it will be refurbished.
This is big Rip-off... I'm jsut posting it to let you know before you get shocked with your bill if your phone is lost, damaged or stolen.
cancel your insurance with Asurion... to make them really know that their peices is not acceptable to everyone.
when you have insurance. you only pay a small percentage of what are you insuring. you don't pay it in montly fees so you will cover the price of the phone in few month and when it become to deductable you pey much more higher than the actual price.
Call T-Mobile and cancel you service and tell the Representative the reason for canceling.
I will not reply to any Rebuttal... this is just your information. the new paln prices will be on the 1st. of July 2005... cancel before yopu get shocked.
Thanks
Edd

Brad,
Thanks for your rebuttal and nice response one the report about Asurion. I agree 100% with you but the only thing you almost pay 7% of the actual phone price and when it become to the deductable which they raise it to 110 USD that is alot. because when you insure something, you don't pay it in full price in the first 10 month and it get more when it comes to the deductable.
the only Idea I was trying to share with my fellows and consumers that the fees and prices should be more reasonable.

I read the above rip-off report and thought I should help clear some of the confusion. Asurion has changed their pricing in a way that actually makes more sense. Grant it, not everybody will be happy with it and many will surely end their equipment protection. There will still be $35 deductibles and 3.99 monthly rates like before, the difference now though is that BASIC phones such as Nokia 6010, Samsung C225, Motorola V180 and V188, or Siemens CF62T are phones covered for that price.
Pretty much, the more loaded your phone is, the higher the monthly insurance fee and the deductible. Same as any other insurance. Cars for example: the insuarance rate on a Ford Explorer is higher than the rate on a Chevy Cavalier.
So, if you have an HPIPAQ or a Samsung P735, which cost well over the new deductible of $110, you can no longer pay the same insurance rate as a person with a Motorola V188.
Remember the benefits of having Asurion Equipment Protection:
- Covers loss, theft, physical, or water damage.
- Phone gets mailed to directly to your house.
- No contract extension is required.
You can STILL get a phone WITH-OUT paying for insurance.
- Phone can be purchased with a 1 year contract extension.
- Phone can be purchased with-out a contract extension, but the price will be higher.
- Phone must be paid for in store.
- Phone can be billed to your account, but must be ordered through customer service, not at store.
I myself, have never had insurance. Thankfully, I've never needed it. Still though, it's something that I let every customer know about anyway because you only get 7 days from the time your purchase your phone to decide wether or not you want to get insurance.
I don't try to push it on anyone, but I always let people know about it because everyday there is always someone mad because they broke their phone and nobody told them that they only had 7 days to get insurance when they got their phone.
