Its not illegal...

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 27, 2013

Its not illegal for them to do this actually. Like any type of "sting" they have to follow legal guidelines in the execution of this event. As such, any sting is normally ran across a DA or Judges desk for scrutiny and legality. The prevailing thought is that average joe citizen WOULD NOT fall for any of these stings. Due to the fact that a criminal activity such as the one described would be well beyond that average citizens ability to carry out. Only those individuals who are already commiting crimes or willing to commit illegal acts would be enticed by the prospect of robbing a drug house.

This means that they are proactivly going after the criminals. See if you would perform a home invasion for drugs, then one can assume that you would also have no compunction in performing a home invasion to rob a normal family.

It is a bit dishonest but the courts have ruled that law enforcment CAN use tactics such as this. Its ok to lie to a suspect during interogation. Its ok to setup stings like this. A sting like this is normally overseen by a DA or Judge mainly to protect the police officers and detectives involved from these very accusations. With someone in authority over them overseeing a operation such as this, they are less likely to commit acts that would have a arrest or conviction over turned at a later date.

As for targeting racial minorities, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but you do realize there are not that many "minorities" any more. American Indians aside that is. Have you ever read what the "minority" rate in prisons are? Have you seen the area reports that show the break down of arrests per racial catagory?? You say they are unfairly targeting minorities, but its those same people who are commiting those types of crimes. If we believe what you say, then by your own post you say minorities are stupid and fall for this because they are minorities. When the reality is that the minorities are smart enough to avoid stings like this. They tend to spot the strange white guy asking people to help him rob a place and warn everyone else.

Its a sad state of our country that stings like this have to happen. But I sleep a bit better knowing that atleast the police are TRYING to catch the bad guy, no matter what the race is. I would suggest that if you have a problem with the police attempting to make everyone safer by these stings, that you yourself ARE one of these criminal types. Average Joe Citizen would applaude these actions. As stated before, if someone is willing to take the risk of robbing a drug house, then they would have no issue robbing Joe Citizen. If it was your life and your familys safety at risk, and someone did do a home invasion on you, who are you going to b***h about. The police because they didnt proactivly protect you and yours from the evil bad guys.

See the problem here??? Its not entrapment. Entrapment means a person was "trapped" into the situation. The reality is that EVERYONE has a choice. Its called Free Will for a reason. Most normal and sane people would not every take anyone up on a chance to rob someone else. Oh its nice to daydream about, but little things like empathy and compassion and common sense tend to steer your average citizen away from criminal activites. Sure that upstanding bank loan officer likes to smoke herb, but they wouldnt go rob a drug house to get it. We as Americans tend to feel its ok to break "small" laws. Going a extra 5-10 miles over the speed limit. Smoking a little grass. Cutting someone off on the road. But when it comes to something major like robbery or a home invasion, most just dont have the guts or inclination to carry such a act out.
