What happened to me is pretty much what happened to everybody else that has posted here. 2 guys that were driving a Ford Expedition asked me if I wanted to buy some speakers, as I was getting into my car. They told me that the warehouse had given them too many. They didn't want to take them back to their boss but wanted to make some money off them. They wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to sell them on EBAY, but was going to use them. Like they wanted to do a favor for somebody.

They were in a hurry and said that they had to get back to their boss. I was reluctant, but they were very pushy and they finally got me to agree to pay $200 for a pair of the AudioPhile 583LR Tower speakers. They showed me a brochure and even took one of the speakers out of the box to let me look at it. A was sceptical but finally agreed. They followed me to the ATM and I gave them the money. I went home and was planning to look the speakers up on the internet, but didn't do it right away. I hooked them up and tested them out.

Unlike some of the other people that have posted this scam notice, I really liked the sound of the speakers. I liked them so much I forgot about looking the speakers up on the internet. I have used the speakers for about 2 months now and still love them. I think that they sound great. They are replacing the two mini speakers that I got with my $400 JBL home theatre system at Best Buy. I think that the speakers are plenty loud and very clear on the high end.

Maybe I just got lucky and got a good pair. I just feel better now that I know that someone was trying to scam me, and I wasn't just buying stolen goods off the street. Even though I love the speakers, I will never buy something off the street. I believe that it is wrong to buy stolen goods. The only reason that I finally looked these speakers up on the internet is that I didn't know if I would have enough money to pay for School and stuff (college), so I was thinking about selling them.

I guess that I wont be able to sell them on EBAY. I hope that they last, now that I know the warranty is no good.
