Aurora bought our mortgage from National City, I had been with National City for over 6 years without any problems. I made my first payment to Aurora without incident then before my second payment was due I received a notice that I had missed a payment while I was with Nat. City, and that Aurora was now demanding over $2,000.00 in late fees and interest.

I immediately contacted Aurora and asked them what payment I had supposedly missed, I was given a particular month missed, I sent them a copy of the check showing that this payment had in fact been made. I was then told that it was not that month but a different month, this went on several times each time I was told it was a different month.

To make it easier, I sent them 3 years worth of cancelled checks. Then to my amazement no one at Aurora would talk to me and told me "to wait for my day in court" This amazed me because I had offered to make the payment that "was missing" until we could straighten out the problem and when we resolved it we could just credit my account. But I refused to pay them over $2,000.00 for late fees.

Here is where it got interesting. I was instructed to continue to make payments, which I did. Then I noticed that they were not cashing them, within days I received all of these payments in the mail because Aurora stated that it was not enough to bring the loan current. My main issue was that the loan was never late or behind.
My house was scheduled to be sold at a sheriff sale, I was able to get that stopped with the help of an attorney. At least we thought it had been stopped, come to find out that the sale went forward even after a judge had ordered that it not, pending further review. I had a real estate agent come to my door and inform me that he owned my house.

This has been going on since 7/01. Bottom line, Aurora has not provided proof of any missing payments and has stopped accepting my payments to them.

A few months ago my attorney asked if I were interested in a class action lawsuit, of course I am but we have not reached that point yet. I amvery interesteed in any lawsuit that would make this company suffer like my family has over these past few years. I am willing to be contacted if any one else is interested in a class action lawsuit.
