I am posting this to save all of you who are looking to adopt a rescue dog the time and frustration. This all began in April of this year. So, let the games begin.....

You are not to ask any questions about a dog until you fill out an adoption application. Which, I did. Once you fill out the application you can email them. Then you must email the management email so the Texas group will know you are interested and you live in another state.

Because depending on what day it is they will only adopt out to Texas residents and other days will adopt out to anyone and sometimes only to Oklahoma and Texas. The statement they repeated that worked best for them was they didnt want a long-distance/out of state adoption. Funny, considering where I live in a completely different state is CLOSER to the dog than many cities in Texas.  Because after all Texas is a big state, just ask them.

The dog I was interested in I emailed the rep several times never heard back from her. There was a typo in one email address not sure if it was intentional. I got an undelivered email report. So, emailed another one. Nothing. The rep that was supposed to approve us wouldnt answer emails. Finally, emailed management because Texas wouldn't ever answer. Finally, got her answer. My emails don't work with certain emails........

Next, usually we do a home visit. But you can send pictures which I did. Actually, called my vet and my references So, in July get a phone call.CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have been approved. Shocker!!! Considering 9 years earlier I adopted a dog from ARPH and still have him. Btw, the drive to get the dog I have now was 16 hours round trip.  So my rep states she will have the dog's rep contact me told her I never heard from her in the past 3 months. Let the excuses begin she changed jobs has been adopting dogs this past weekend.

I explained to my rep that I would be interested in another dog if they thought there was a better fit for our family. I will check on that. Nothing. Text her again same statement I will check on that....Nothing. It now has become a game for me. Nah, it's been a game since about the second week for me.

They like to "transfer" the texas dogs to the PNW chapter and just beginning to the New Mexico chapter. Even when there are people in Texas that want to adopt them. Who obviously have adopted dogs in the past? Because they name dogs and ask if their dog and the new one will get along. Nope, the answer is it is being moved no matter what. This exchange happened multiple times.

The end of the story begins with an ARPH facebook post that states paraphrasing..... why is this dog still available? to which we answer on my husband's facebook account "starting to wonder if this dog exists have emailed you many times and my rep many times and have heard nothing from you. We were approved in july and nothing So, I'm guessing that is why you still have him." This was in October.

Didn't take her long to delete our post but never heard a word about the dog or any dog for that matter.

The dog's rep was kind enough to post pictures of the dog in question later so that way we would know he did actually exist. However, she didnt catch my whole point which this entire game proves........ There is no adoptable dog for me and quite possibly you either.

I called this a scam just because I had no idea how else to label it. I didn't give them any money. I just wasted my time and theirs.
