Some months ago I decided to purchase a contract through these guys. I discovered I made an incredible mistake from the first time I had the dealer contact these guys.
I honestly could go on and on about the 6 or so times myself and local shops have contacted these guys. Hopefully my few comments will deter you from even thinking about buying from these guys.

All of the 4 different shops I have had contact this company for warranty service immediatly called me back after talking to them and asked me "who are these guys?!" concerned because anytime they are contacted they are very combative, and make it extremly obveous they try to talk their way out of performing repairs.

I've been told 2 times by 2 different shops they've answered the phone only by "hello" (real professional!)On top of that they only have 1 person that answers the phone in their claims dept. I have also received the same older woman every time I have called the main number. I would guess no more than a handfull, people run this "company" All of the shops have said I should immediatly request a refund and have never seen a warranty company be so uncooperative and deceptive (Dealer included.)

1# The warranty clearly says the water pump is covered part. My water pump started spewing anti-freeze all over so I brought my truck in to get it fixed. Of course they did not want to fix it because they only covered "broken parts" Its common knowledge that if a water pump is leaking anti-freeze that it needs to be replaced. After both the mechanic and myself arguing with them they agreed to replace it, I assume only because if they didnt they knew down the line it would be much expensiver if the truck overheated.

To top that off once the shop completed repairs they had trouble getting payment for the repairs. It took almost 1 month for them to send a check out for the repairs (the particular shop didnt take credit card at the time) after multiple calls asking where they payment is, all they would keep saying is the check is in the mail. The shop said they were lied to about it being mailed 3 times.

#2 The warranty makes it seems as if seals and gaskets are coverd. They are not, in very small print is says "all seals and gaskets, in conjunction with covered repairs" I had an intake manifold gasket that blew and the claims person apparetly "accidently" told the shop they would cover the gasket itself but not the laber to replace (550). Once again when the shop went to get payment (this one by credit card) The credit card was repetedly declined for over 2 weeks and they would not give an explination why. The shop now says they refuse to work with the warranty company due to the problems they had.

#3 Newest problem! The warranty says "Parts contained within the transfer case; transfer case if damaged by failure of internally lubricated parts."

Now when I drive my car and come to the stop I can literally feel and hear the gears binding and if I put it in 4x4 it literally sounds like rocks tumbling inside the transfer case (albeit the 4x4 does work, for now) Talked to a out of state mechanic friend of mine over the phone and then also brought it to a local shop and both advised me the transfer case needs to be replaced and both said it is a very common problem on late model chevy/gmc trucks.

Mechanic called for authorization to replace and they declined because "it is techically still functioning and not broken" and the mechanic advised the claim rep that its very obveous it needs to be replaced. The rebuttel was that unless the mechanic could tell them EXACTLY what was wrong within the transfer case they would not cover it. The mechanic then explained it would cost more to disassemble the case and inspect each part and replace each broken part then it would to just buy and instal a rebuilt transfer case. Again they declined.

So then I get to call the company and argue with the claim rep. This guy buy the way is extremly rude, deffensive and interupts EVERY single sentence I try to make. He told me they wanted me to drive the car until the transfer case fries and the car doesnt move or the 4x4 doesnt work!

I questioned if it made financial sense to the company to do it this way since if I drive it till it breaks it has the potential to do more damage to other parts when it does go, not to mention on top of that they will have to pay for a tow (the warranty is supposed to cover tows for when something breaks thats covered by warranty) so now I am driving a car around that sounds like its going to fall apart because of the failing transfer case.

I have no doubt that when it does actally go out they will do everything they can to weasel their way out of it and not pay for it.

Transfer case finally went a few days later

AUTHOR: Kris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 14, 2005

Well a few days went by and my transfer case finally went when I had my truck in 4x4. So brought it back to the same shop where I had it before and they called and auto repair warranty replaced the transfer case. May have jumped the gun assuming they wouldnt fix but they did indeed get my truck going again.
