Same story as others.  Went to "interview".  Told to come in 2 days later for "training".

First day of training.  Shut in a room no bigger than a closet.  There were six of us.  First 2 hours about how money will just fall from the sky in auto sales.  Then told we were to pay 299.00 but would be reimbursed after 60 days of employment.  Sat there for 8 hours with a 10 minute lunch.  When going over to dealership sales area to use the restroom was told "don't talk to the salespersons there".  First red flag.  I've been in a closet for 6 hours and really have to pee.  Why would I talk to the salespersons?

Any questions that were asked about training fee were met with borderline hostility designed to make us feel that if we didn't want to pay we were obviously not serious and worthy candidates.

On my drive home after getting out of the hot stuffy closet I was in for 8 hours with no oxygen to my brain things just started to not make sense about this.  I searched Automax and page after page of "rip-off" reports surfaced.

Do I think some people would pay the fee, be hired and go on to do great in car sales ?  Absolutely.  My concern is lack of disclosure from the beginning.  There is no absolute that you are being hired by anyone.  You are paying for training.  What happens after that is no concern to them.

The other candidates also looked suspicious to me.  Did not see any "salesmanship" qualities.  Left me thinking we just seemed either dumb enough to fall for it or were people that didn't bother to ask a lot of questions at the interview (I didn't).

I didn't return the second day.  Actually the day was not a waste.  I did learn some things about sales and how you are paid.  I also learned to be careful and definately think for myself.
