I purchased a car from Freeway Auto in Madison, TN. They closed that lot and several others in Tennessee. Just as any other car purchaser from Freeway, I am being charged 4 times what the car was actually worth. They told me that after having the car for 1 year, the interest would fall off and the payments would get lower. That statement was all lies.

Freeway has been through several owners since I purchased my car 1 year ago. I was Stratus Group, now it is under new owners and has changed their name to AutoMax. I have done research and Freeway has defrauded several thousand people and has a class action lawsuit filed which I am looking to join.

They fail to honor the extended warranties that we pay for in out payments. When my car needed major engine repair, it took them 3 weeks and a call from a lawyer to get the car repaired. They still wanted me to continue payments although the car was not running and they did not want to honor the warranty. They kept transferring me to the repair department and all I got was voice mail and no return calls. They were very rude and unprofessional. They kept insisting it was something I did to the car and it was not the engine.

After my LAWYER sent it to an outside repair shop, it was in fact the engine and was covered under the warranty. We had to threaten to sue them and put this in the media to get the car repaired. I had to get a rental car before and during the car repair. They did not offer any reimbursement as the warranty states.

After the car was repaired, the mechanic told them (Freeway) that the car had major engine work before because it had rust in the engine. They did not disclose that to me before I purchased the car. Since then, the transmission has went out and of course, it took a call from my lawyer to get the repair done.

If you are reading this, please warn your friends--DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOMAX(formerly Freeway)!

Freeway auto credit is most definitely a ripoff

I am also a Freeway customer, I purchased my car about seven months ago and i recently found out from The Department Of Highway Safety And Motor Vehicles that all the cars from Freeway are leased not purchased and that they just trick you into thinking that you're purchasing the car. you actually have to pay more money to buy the car at the end of your contract. So anybody with a car from freeway auto credit please read your contract. And if anybody knows of any class action suits against freeway auto credit/ auto max please send a rebuttal with the needed information. I have many complaints.
