On July 23, 2014 I rented a car at Avis Car car rental located in Driver Village in Cicero, NY. A woman had just returned a 2014 Chevy Impala in front of me. When she completed her transaction the manager started my rental agreement. He asked me would I like a Ford Focus or a Chevy Impala at the same price as the Ford, I choose the Impala. He completed my agreement and had me initial three places on the agreement and signing at the bottom plus signing an addendum that stated my driver license was valid. After this he handed me the sames keys he had set on the counter from the previous woman. At that point I he told me I had to have the car back by 4pm on the 30th of July or just call in and extend the rental, he went on to say that he would be on vacation but a girl named Terry would be able to help me. I did call in and extend the contract on two occasions which gave me a return date of August 13, 2014. On August 14, after the car was returned I received a letter from Avis demanding I return the car. I called the local Avis rental place and was told everything was fine.

A few days later I noticed my checking account was not right and went I looked at it I saw that Avis had charged me $1000.18 for a rental that was supposed to be a total of $697.,95. I called Avis and was given a run around so I called my bank and they said they would look into it. The next day my bank called me and said they received a copy of my contract from Avis but it was much more than the two pages I had told the bank that I received. Apparently when the manager at Avis had me sign the contract and pointed out things like initial here that shows you declined insurance coverage and initial here this shows you agree to the estimated rental fee and when I said estimated he said well if you decide to keep the car longer then the fee will change. My bank tells mr the charged me for Sirious radio that I did not use and a whole host of other charges totaling a whopping $302.23. To this day Avis still has not sent me a copy of my final bill or responded to any of my phone calss. And by the way, going back to the previous woman who had just turned that car in ahead of me, It smelled like urine, it was filthy inside with something stuck on the steering wheel and on the driver door and window. Plus Avis charged me almost $10.00 a gallon for gas. Be aware when renting a car there are so many rip offs involved to the point where I was even charged 14.% sales tax and was told thats what the state of New York gets on car rentals.
