In response to many negative reports I have seen written here and elsewhere, I have to say in the University's defense that I am receiving a quality education and I am lacking nothing. One post I read was from Amanda of Texas. Amanda clearly did not read the terms of the loan contract. Why did she take a loan from the school itself? Why did she not use a Stafford grant or a loan from Sallie Mae like everyone else? The school TELLS you that they will keep tuition if you drop out or withdraw, which Amanda tells us she did. DUH. Ok, so the school is a little money-oriented. What university isn't?

Reports like this make me laugh out loud, they really do. Invariably, the posts are rambling, unclear and are rife with bad grammar and terrible spelling. Amanda's is no exception. My advice is to maybe read things before you sign them. I am sure that your counselor (and it is spelled "counselor," not "counsillor") went over everything with you. No... I can't help you. Nor would I, Amanda. My quota for annoying idiots that irritate me has been filled for the rest of 2007 and 2008.

STOP ATTENDING ALL THESE JUNK ON LINE SCHOOLS AND YOUR PROBLEMS WILL BE SOLVED

AUTHOR: Margaret - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 18, 2008

All brick & morter colleges and community colleges offer on line classes now at reasonable state tuition rates. If everyone would just stop this Bull$#*& of attending these rip off places of higher education, you would not be getting yourselves in a financial bind, or having these rip off companies trying to ruin your credit. Then UOP, AXIA, STRAYER, CAPELLA, and who ever else Jon Doe for profit schools will close up shop and be gone for good!

These on line schools are a 100% rip off. I have taken a few on line classes through one of my local community college's and I am satisfied to know that its 100% accredited and transferable to any 4 year university, no questions asked.

Please everyone, stop giving yourself a heartache

Axia College -- Anonymous Employee -- Why would someone attend this school?

AUTHOR: Destructo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Why would you respond to someone dropping out of your school, like you have? You're an employee, even possibly an instructor, and instead of bringing people into the school to better themselves, you're pushing many people away with your rude remark. You're not an instructor, and shouldn't even be an employee, with an accredited school.

Expressing Opinions-Response to Phoenix Arizona Axia College At The University Of Phoenix

AUTHOR: Mini329 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 12, 2008

No matter the level of education or ability to spell and express one's feelings via the written word, it is easy to understand what Amanda was saying. I agree with the point you made about reading contracts (and "reading the fine print" for that matter), but why be so harsh? ("DUH", and "clearly did not read", and other criticisms/insults). It is very possible that Amanda was not completely informed about her choices and did not know what to ask. These things happen quite often, and I would guess, even to you. If they didn't, some of the reports and comments on this website would'nt even be here.

Aside from this unnecessary response to almost totally nonproductive feedback about UOP....oh I mean Amanda....or was it UOP....well whatever the case, I lean on the side of not-so-great, and some down right negative input about UOP. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1997 and things were just as crazy. Some of the instuctors were crap, the school was money hungry, and there was a lot of administrative disorganization I thought would be cleaned up by now. That is definitly unfortunate.

For those out there who are considering the University of Phoenix, ask yourself if you can continue the journey you begin. The degree will not give you much more than a pretty piece of paper, and a nice addition to a resume if you don't have the ability to take the information you learn and run in an effective and useful direction with it. If you don't like what you see for yourselves on the other side, change majors and/or directions.

I am glad you are laughing out loud. It will be interesting to see how you feel about UOP in the months ahead. I too thought all the "doom and gloom" about UOP was sour grapes. I am not thinking that now.

Keep us informed. I have a feeling you will have a rocky road ahead at good old UOP.

Thanks for seeing the light!

I have tried to submit many rebuttals only to be censored and not posted by rip off report. So I will be as kind as possible. I work for Axia, and I can't begin to say my peace for I fear the (bias) people from ripoff will not post it. So one of the reason I get people leaving their college courses I've built to change their lives is because of sites like these ONLY posting negative responses. I can share hundreds of great experiences...But I may not get posted.

Bottom line is: If you aren't smart enough for college you shouldn't have inquired in the first place. I could go on FOREVER but...Again, I'm fearing it won't be posted.

The UOP and Axia has changed my life in many ways, and I feel sad that all the hard work I've put towards my degree is being soiled by people who can't even read government contracts. (student loans are the same across the board, just because YOU failed, you can't blame paying the feds back, on Axia.)

Go to beauty school. Its cheap and easy.
