CREDITADAPTER.COM IS A SCAM: Signed up for the one week online trial that offers you can get your credit report & scores from all 3 credit bureaus while trying their service. IT IS A TOTAL SCAM AND RUNAROUND.

SEVEN Phone Calls and TWO Faxes later over the course of 5 days and FOUR hours of being on the phone (note my patience at trying to resolve the problems they lay at their customer's feet), the "customer service" person states I need to call the same number I already called! Yeah! Start all over moron! (Needless to say, I cancelled service.)

I RECEIVED ZERO DATA AND 100% HEADACHE. All I got was email notices that my account was temporarily suspended and access blocked.

Here is a list of the numbers I have called:
(800) 305-3458 (over 3 times)
(800) 306-5659 (fax)
(800) 492-3042
(866) 212-2170
(888) 259-6845

Then when transferred to the last person I spoke with, I: 1. confirmed creditadapter.com had on record my cancelled service 2. told them WHY (data above). After hearing the above, they had the gall to tell me to "Have a Nice Day." (BTW, they sent me an email telling me that there is nothing further I ned to do, but read to end of this report...to see what a lie that was.)

("God Give Me Strength." to not choke the living bejeezuz out of her.)

I have never written up complaints on any business before. I own and run my own business and realize how damaging posting bad word of mouth can be.

But creditadapter.com is just too much. I suspect that they rope you in with a 7-day no obligation free trial and then delay you for seven days so they can then start the billing cycle while you are still haranguing with them to try to get your account access sorted out so you see if their service is right for you.

I suspect they are in bed with: TransUnion (confirmed), Experian, Equifax and Intellius (not confirmed).

Have a nice day...indeed!

PS: By looking up another report on this site, I found out these guys were also going to scam me for a monthly payment to 24Protect, which they unscrupulously had signed me up for (in their "fine print"), so I had to call and cancel that as well.

Credit Adapter, Privacy Matters, 24 hour protection

AUTHOR: Roxcimoore - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 16, 2010

In my experience with this company, time was not of the essence.  I am in the process of filing bankruptcy and was advised by my attorney to obtain copies of all three credit reports.  I was advised to go to www.annualcreditreport.com but some how typed the address incorrectly and was linked to another page.  There was a $1.00 for a trial membership and to retrieve a credit report from all three agencies.  I completed the enrollment and submitted my credit card/personal information.  The security question used to verify my identity asked about a mortgage loan.  They wanted me to verifiy the name of the lender and the terms of the loan.  The only problem was, I rent and have never had a mortgage.  I ignored this at first and just selected "none of the above" as my response.

Another webpage was generated and told me that the information I submitted does not match the information I have on file and I would need to request my credit report in writing.  Since I was not going to be allowed access to my credit information online, I immediatley cancelled my membership by clicking on the "contact us" link and sending my request via email.  I was expecting to immediatley receive a confirmation email stating that my membership had been canceled, but did not receive an email.  My suspicions were raised at that point and I decided to check my bank statement online.  My bank statment showed (3) $1.00 debits.  One charge was from a company named Privacy Matters.  The other two where from 24 Hour Protection and Credit Adapter.

I've experieced a scam simular to this in the past. That company had like 4-5 different company names and enrolled me in memberships with all of their companies.  I thought it was over when I notified my bank, but because they had my checking account number every month they would electronically submit a payment to each company.  It took months to settle and they were never able to bring charges against the company because they had off shore accounts. Since I have personally experienced a scam like this before, I contacted my banking representative and advised her of the events that transpired and inquired about the best possible solution.  We had to deactivate my credit card and have a new card issued.

My experience with CreditAdapter.com

AUTHOR: cardfan - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 22, 2010

I successfully used Credit Adapter (aka TripleCreditScore.com) twice today, obtaining all 3 credit scores and all 3 credit reports for two friends of mine.  I signed up twice, obtained the info advertised, and cancelled both accounts all within an hour, promptly receiving e-mail confirmations of my account cancellations.  I think you just have to pay very close attention to all the details and then beat these types of people at their own game -- getting what you want without paying for it.  Cancelling the same day before you have a chance to forget about it is always a good idea.

I never even had to talk to a human.  I called the phone numbers provided at the time I signed up (one for Credit Adapter and one for 24Protect) and was able to cancel my accounts by simply keying in my account IDs and Zip Code.
