OnApril 28, 2011, I transferred $1610.00  via GoogleCheckout to BAJA PPG.

BAJAPPG offers 6-day courses to acquire training to becoming proficient in thesport of motorized Paragliding.

BAJAPPG is owned and operated by Michael Purdy, who is a member of USPPG, which
governs this sport. Michael Purdy has also additional addresses on his website:
1033B Ave, 101125, Coronado, CA 92178. He conducts his training at 162 Puerto
Acapulco, La Salina Marina, Baja California.

OnMay 9, 2011, I traveled to Baja California to begin training. On day 2 of the 6
day course, Michael advised me that due to high winds and bad weather in the
forecast, the training should not commence at this time. He offered to credit
me for 5 unused training days and resume training at a later date.  I agreed and returned home.

Due to bad weather and schedule conflicts, training in the following month was not
possible. Via email on September 27, 2011, we agreed to complete training from
November 8 -12, 2011.

OnNovember 04, 2011, Michael informs me via email that due to bad weather in the
forecast, we would have to re-schedule training once again.

OnNovember 04, 2011, I emailed Michael, requesting a refund for the unused
portion of the training fee. My concerns were the weather situation was
uncertain, I lived far away, and I would not be available to continue training
due to schedule conflicts.

Michael Purdy did not respond to my request.

OnNovember 29, 2011, I emailed him again, reminding him of my request for a
refund, which I found not to be unreasonable at that point.

Michael Purdy did not respond to my email.

OnDecember 03, 2011, I reached M. Purdy via phone, Tel # 858-775-2796. I
explained to him the nature of my 2 emails, and once again requested a refund,
citing my concerns.
He referred to his refund policy, explained that weather was out of his control and he was not
willing to issued me a refund for the unused portion of my training.

After emphasizing that it was nearly impossible for me to return to Baja California,
and I now insisted on the refund, he became irate and ended the conversation by
hanging up. I called back, but got his voicemail.

Currently, Michael Purdy is holding $1610.00 of my money for one day of training. By
demanding advance payments and not issuing refunds, he can easily hide behind
his "bad weather" policy and scam training fees from me and past and future students.

I feel that at this point, I have done everything possible and reasonable to
communicate my request to Michael Purdy without the desired result.

This report is not to badmouth BajaPPG. However, students, considering taking lessons from Michael Purdy, should be forewarned to read his poorly written refund policy before sending him any money. As my experience shows, he is not willing to issue refunds of training fees for any reasons.
