received a check from a previous employer and took it to the bank on the check bank of America where they charged me 8.00 to cash when I asked for a receipt she replied I don't have to give you a receipt I said can I speak to the manager she replied I am the manager Ashley Abernathy at the bank of America located in colonial heights va 23834 i was then told I needed to leave right now as I started to walk out a armed security guard walked over near me I guess to let me know he was there funny thing I was saying that i was going to contact the police and attorney General this is one of the most crooked banks I've ever been to my question is why wouldn't she give me a receipt if her charging $8.00 for cashing a check was legit I've filed complaints with the attorney General the bbb and the federal trade commission. please beware of this bank of America

Check cashing fee---

The fee is legitimate. Every bank that I know of charges this fee although the amount may vary. When a non account holder takes a check into the bank it's drawn on and cashes the check the fee is charged. No bank I know of is set up to issue a receipt for this fee. Some ways to avoid the fee: open an account with the bank the check's drawn on or deposit into your account at whatever bank youn use and the fee won't be charged. Complain to whom ever you want to but you won't get this changed.
