I recently had an alarm system installed by Bay Alarm less than 3 weeks ago.

Day 1 and 2 installation.
Day 3 I have a fault on my control panel. The technician on the morning of Day 3 but cannot resolve the problem with a detector.

Day 4 a technician scheduled to arrive between 11 to 3 calls and cancels. I called service again and they found two faulty detectors.

Day 5 I get a call from the monitoring service that I have a low battery fault. A technician arrives and trouble shoots the system, but could not find the problem.

Day 6 A more experienced technician shows up and finds the unit had a bad relay. Since this was the weekend he had to come back between Mon and Friday.

Day 7 The technician replaces the suspect unit.

"one week later"

Day 8 The problem with the low battery fault appears. Call for service that night and the technician can not resolve the problem with the sensor. The technician disables the bad zone.

Day 9 I call the district supervisor, service manager, salesman, to ask for my money back and have the system removed. The install service manager calls and arranges to have another technician to trouble shoot the system again.

Day 10. The service manager is sending another technician to fix the radio. He said they are experiencing problems with the equipment.

It is clear that this system is unreliable and should be totally replaced. Bay Alarm service people respond quickly, 4 out 6 times the people could not fixt or resolve the problem. Billing is wonderful. They make sure you pay your bill on time.

Hope no one else experiences the poor performance of Bay Alarm Company.

I feel your pain

We have been using Bay Alarm for about a year and a half, and they are amongst the most incompetant people I've ever had to deal with.

We've tried cancelling service with them for 6 months straight. We've requested refunds. Everything is ignored..and they still want us to pay for the services received during the time that we were calling on a weekly basis to cancel the service.

Not only that...we were informed that they would wipe the slate clean, install the proper equipment (which they did not do after 2 glass shattering break-ins), and start fresh. After we agreed to do that, they called back and said that the "manager" says that we have to pay the delinquent balance for the time that we did not want, or use their service.

These guys are crooks..and I hope you got your money back from them. We had filed complaints with both the BBB, and the Dept. of Corporations, and we will sue them just out of principle if they don't cooperate.
