I received my mailing today, and within the bulk was a plain, white envelope with a label with my name and address on the center. The envelope had no return address and a stamping coming from Canada.

Once opening the mail, I saw a check dated Sept. 22nd for the amount of $4,995.67. It was coming from Bay Cities Trust Fund in Lutz, Florida. The letter was explaining to me that there was a claim that was to be acknowledged from the National Lotto Co-operation Sweepstakes Lottery in which I won $150,000 (a portion of $1.5 Million US Dollars that is shared amongst ten other winners).

It stated that there were numerous attempts made so that I could retrieve my prize. And within all these attempts, my "award" had been forwarded to a clearing/disbursement institution. The letter also stated that the amount had government taxes and fees that needed to be deducted from the award.

They explained to me that in order to retrieve the balance of my award, I would have to submit $2998.00 US Dollars via Western Union or Moneygram. I proceeded to contact the name on the bottom of the letter, Frank Milton, which stated that the mailbox was full.

I was so excited to hear the news considering that I am struggling, so I showed my wife the letter (the skeptical one in our relationship). She felt that it wasn't a "fu nny"check since she is aware of transactions that occur in other countries. She felt that if the company was trying to reach me for so long, why would they risk mailing me some of my so-called winnings?

I showed her that it was an official check. She then went into her pocketbook and showed me personalized checks that she had created (therefore showing me that anybody could get checks drafted).

We also saw on the news some time ago how a person had deposited a check that was unknown to be bogus and the bank cleared the full amount before finding out that the check was unacceptable months later. The person had to then be forced to pay an insufficient fee charge as well as pay the bank for the value of the check.

I am so glad that I didn't follow my desperation, but instead, followed my mind.
