While visiting family crossed the golden gate bridge on 6 Aug 2017. Paid the bill ($7.75) 21 Aug 2017, online using credit card. Received invoice for bill in September. Provided copy of credit card payment via mail and contested charge via mail. Received new invoice for bill and now added penalties ($32.75) on 20 October 2017. This time I am contesting the bill and paying it via mail. Can’t trust this company so I expect they will cash the check and I will have proof of that and then they will charge me again. I am doubtful they will give me my money ($32.75) back for this false charge. Looking for information on a class action lawsuit as I am sure I am not the only one

I understand the 48 hour process. I used it 3 times during my visit. On the 4th trip I paid online after the 48 hours was up. The website allows for this as well. Via mail I contested the charge which is as good as a phone call especially when you can try and speak to a human but only end up waiting. I disagree, Intentional or not, the customer service process and the results are so bad it still remains to me a ripoff.

If you travel over the Golden Gate FT requires you to go to their website within 48 hours of the toll being incurred. After that they will send you out an invoice. This is something that is posted on signs leading up to and on the bridge itself. I speak from experience as I travel over that bridge a couple of times a year.
Since you went over the bridge on the 6th, but did not pay it online until the 21st the invoice you got was actually a valid invoice. Where you probably should have contacted them by phone to try and get it straight than to just send a dispute by mail. If you still haven't talked to an actual human, perhaps that is the first thing you should do before you send them any more funds.
This isn't a RipOff..it just appears to be someone who was unaware of how to pay the toll.
