I received a bill for a settlement offer of $275.75. Since it is tax season they are offering me a settlement on a $919.18 bill that I never did acquire. Client is Asset Acceptance Llc and store name is Rnb Target. I never had a charge account there. I will not pay for a bill I never did have and this is a complete ripoff!

The Northland Group is a third party bill collection agency. You can send a dispute letter certified mail to them to prove the validity of the debt. They have 28 days from the date they sign for the letter to prove it. Thats why you send it certified mail. If they call and harass you send them a cease and desist letter, certified mail and by Federal Law they will not be able to contact you. If they do you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission onlie at ftc.com. You can find a dispute letter and a cease and desist letter online. Just type the form in the search box and edit your information.
