For at least five years BBG Communications has managed to get away with its single malicious ripoff scheme aimed at unsuspecting travelers. I won't tell my own miserable story here, since a "bbg" search at the ripoffreport.com website leads to more than 80 stories similar to mine. Google searches of combining "bbg" with words like "scam" and "fraud" lead to maybe 80 more such reports. If so many people have taken the time and effort to tell their stories online, certainly BBG Communications has scammed tens or hundreds of thousands of travelers.
My question is, "Where on earth is the government protection all of us deserve as taxpayers and as consumers?"
After this company scammed me two months ago, I spent three full days doing everything I could think of to try bring this horrible business to justice. To make a very long story short, my extensive efforts to report the behavior of BBG to the FBI, FTC, FCC, IRS, and Attorney General's Office led virtually nowhere. While I'm not especially cynical about government, I'm astounded that my government looks the other way while this and other criminal companies become very, very rich by blatantly cheating and severely harming American citizens. It is sickening that the malicious behavior of BBG and similar mafia-like companies is so well known and publicized while so little has been done to end this behavior by the government agencies we pay taxes to support.
If government lacks the courage and commitment to eliminate them, filthy companies such as BBG can only be driven out of business by consumers. If no BBG charges to credit cards, then no BBG scam. If Visa and Mastercard and Discover and all banks whose cards bear these logos loudly and clearly heard the message, "Do business with BBG, and I won't do business with you," BBG will be certainly driven out of business. Ethics apparently don't sway banks and credit card companies, but greed does.
Why not call corporate headquarters for each business on "A List of Our Satisfied Customers" at the bottom of the bbgusa.com page and announce that you will tell your friends and family to boycott the business until it ends its relation with BBG?

It's all useless.

The reason nothing can be done about this huge scam is that the company is actually located in Tijuana, Mexico. US laws do not apply to this company because of this. The San Ysidro, California address they give in case you want to send a letter, is only a rented PO Box used to recieve mail from angry customers.
If you talked with someone from this company and you were told that they are located in Los Angeles, it's a big lie. I used to work for this company, at the call center and I can assure you 100% that the company is in Mexico.
If you were offered a discount, I suggest you take it and consider yourself lucky.
If your rip off involved a Visa card, complain to Visa a lot. Visa is always on the brink of ending all deals with this company. It will help to put thsi company, and many like it, out of business.
