Beware of sudden phone calls from a company calling itself "Beneficial Client Care". They introduce themselves as a company that can help you get a credit card if you've been turned down for cards in the past. In fact, they know you've been turned down. They say they can guarantee you a $2,500 credit limit on a Visa or Mastercard. You are supposed to pay them $247 from your checking account, then they send you dozens of applications from FDIC-approved banks. In other words, they take your money but don't give you a card. Chances are you'll be turned down for the applications they send you if you were turned down in the recent past.

I asked the guy on the phone why Beneficial Client Care didn't have a Website. His answer was, "Because it costs too much to design a Web site, and to host your own domain costs around $70 a year." But wait a minute, they're getting $247 from every sucker who falls for their scam!

I mentioned to him that I thought I saw his company's name on the internet and he said "Beneficial Client Care has absolutely no connection to Beneficial Credit Care". If so, why would they choose such a similar name to a company that already has a bad reputation?

Then, while still chatting to him, I searched for "Beneficial Client Care" on an internet search and immediately this page popped up:

I hope the above warning stops a few people from falling for the BCC scam. They're asking you for $250 just to send you credit card applications that you can download for free just by visiting the Web site of any reputable bank. And if you've been turned down for unsecured Visas/Mastercards recently, the chances are high that you'll be turned down again. With BCC, you'll just pay $250 for the privilege of being turned down.
