My girlfriend runs a small business in canmore and needs a reliable vehicle and tires for work. So the tire shop in town Bens Ok Tire sells her a new set of all season tires. A few months later a new set of winter tires. Shes told at the counter as long as she rotates her tires every 10,000 km shes under warranty. When she highlights the warranty section while explaining you clearly see it says road hazard warranty. Punctures blow outs all that stuff.
Well we went on a trip on the weekend just before may long and her tire blows out. Apparently something punctured it. Well she takes it in to get the warranty tire replacement and they tell her its $50 for a new tire at cost. She shows them the warranty card and they say "ooh the warranty doesnt cover road hazards you need to buy a new tire."
I call them and they say "We don't offer the road hazard anymore since its to expensive so we didnt offer her that option since no one buys it." Yet the highlighted that as part of her warranty at point of sale.
So basically her warranty covers nothing at all. They just bamboozle people into thinking they are covered and then when something happens they sell them a brand new tire. Classic rip off policy for shady auto and tire shops.
My suggestion if you live in Canmore and spend the extra $15 in gas and go to calgary and get your tires at Costco. Ive never head a problem they replaced and repaired any tire problems ive had and they dont try to rip you off with with hidden check boxes or sweet talk you through a warranty that doesnt exist. This has got to be the only tire shop that doesnt provide road hazard warranty i mean hell even walmart does it. But being the only tire shop in canmore they sure take advantage of people.
Take your business elsewhere especially if you want reliable people service and tires.
Cheers

Road Hazard Warrenty/Update

OK Tire in Canmore has not offered a road hazard warranty on tires for a number of years. We will be getting into this again but it will be at a small cost to the customer. As it stands we offer a manufacturers warranty and free rotations. The warranty card we provide is handed over without telling any customer that they have road hazard (flat tire, etc...) warranty coverage. We even check the 'no' box beside that section of the card. The card we hand over and the limited coverage it provides are at no cost to the customer.
An update on this one as well. It did not end up costing the $50 noted above which was already a huge break given that the tire should not have been covered at all. We work as a business and do our best to find an agreement between ourselves and our customers every time something comes up.
Also, we do car tire repairs for far less then any other shop I have heard of. Having to pay a small amount for a tire repair that is not covered by warranty is not a reason to complain.
Please, if there are complaints about this business, it's practices, or it's employees, bring them to us so we can handle them appropriately.

The lady at the counter told me about my warranty and she did seem to include the road hazard section. I got a nail in my tire and when i went in to have it repaired i was charged full price for the repair.
They told me my warranty only covered tire defects. I had no choice but to pay , but i will never purchase tires from them again!
