I recently ordered the "free sample" of the herbal stress fighter, PINADOL, from Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals. Berkeley is the same company that markets ENZYTE, and other herbal supplements.

All I needed to pay for was $4.90 for shipping and handling. I ordered from the internet and was required to enter a credit card number to pay for the shipping and handling. Shortly after, my debit card was charged the $4.90 and I received my sample.

Everything was fine until a month later when I found out that the account I had used to pay for shipping and handling was overdrawn. After speaking with my bank I learned that my account had been charged $70.00 by Berkeley Premium Nuctraceuticals. I immediately contacted Berkeley regarding the charge.

After holding on the telephone for 15-20 minutes, I finally got through to a Berkeley customer representative. I was then informed by the representative that when I ordered the free sample I had automatically been signed up for their "value-added program." This program was designed to charge me $70.00 every other month for a two month supply of PINADOL.

I then became furious with the representative. I informed her that I only wanted the "free sample" and I had not signed up for or authorized any further charges to my account for the "value-added program." The rep. then told me that the website would've told me about the "value-added program" when I ordered my free sample. However, the website did not make any mention of this program when I order the sample. I was looking at the Berkeley sight while speaking with the rep. on the phone. When I asked her to show me where the website explained the "value-added program," she told me that her internet was down and she couldn't get on-line!

In the end, it took me three angry phone calls and almost 5 weeks to get my &70.00 back. I have searched Berkeley's website up and down for the "value-added program" and I can't find it. I ask anyone who reads this to check out Berkeley's website: berkeleypremiumnutraceuticals.com. Click on one of the products and then click on cost/order. You will then see what I'm talking about.

The bottom line is that Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals is using deceptive and blatantly false advertising methods to sucker people in. My advice is simple: Don't ever order a "free sample" from Berkeley, because it will end up costing you big!
