Black Friday Best Buy advertised a Samsung washer and dryer. I called at midnight and was told to call back at 1:ooam. Next call (1:00am) was told the sale did not start yet and I was asked to call at 2:ooam, When we called at 2:00am they told us the sale has not started yet. I was driving so my son spoke to them. He was telling the rep what we had alreay went through. At that moment the per jumed in and said the sale has just started, She quickly place the order and we scheduled a delivery appoint (Dec 2). After all night of shopping I receved an email I needed to reschedule the delivery within the next 4 days or it will be cancelled. I called very day and night and even left messages. Finally spoke to someone who set up the delivery for Dec 15th. On December 7th while checking my e-mai I received 2 more e-mails from Best Buy. They cancelled my order. I got right on the phone and got to the website customer service manager, Cameron, told me they over sold the products and need to cancel my order because they were short throughout the country and would make sure our card would be refunded. I told him "no" that I want a washer and dryer I purchased or one equal to the product I purchased. He said "Bottom line you are not getting anything except my money back. I have now gone to my attorney to get this situation straighten out.
1) If they did not have anymore left why would they still accept the order

2) They told me I had to call in within 4 days or the order would be cancelled. Then did not answer the phone. Minimum call duration 30 minutes.

3) If they did not have anymore in stock why did they send me a message to reschedule?

SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT TO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Madness!

AUTHOR: Inspector - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, December 11, 2009

I agree with Ronny on this.  Some People have an addiction to shopping like gambling.  some have even been killed during these shopping mles.  The Walmart store in my town locked the doors and let only certain amounts of people inside.  I don't know if this is safe but, at least nobody was killed.

I cannot understand why a washer and dryer, television, stereo, I pod etc. is worth the aggravation and stress.  You have paid more than you know for the untold stress you placed on yourself.  Relax, even if they were giving it away for free I would not subject myself to what these people go through to save a few dollars.

I predict that this insanity called "Black Friday" will be canceled in the future due to mass killings and suicides because consumers did not get what they wanted.  Relax, nothing is worth it except maybe if they were selling homes for a penny on the dollar.  I might stand in line for that.

Black Friday sales are very limited..

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 10, 2009

The sale is on a Friday for a few hours on select LIMITED items. There are customers that camp out in front of BestBuy a week in advance..just to get in on these sales.

The supplies are limited, which is why they camp out for a week freezing their asses off. If it was as easy as making a phone call..why would these fools freeze their asses off for a week outside of a retail establishment? Unless you are special and think you can do that and everyone else is required to give up a week of their lives and freeze their freaking asses off??

Most likely you were informed if any were left during the sale duration you would be able to purchase it at Black Friday pricing..but I in no way see how BestBuy was committed to holding the appliances for you..it is a first come , first serve sale..which is why FOOLS camp outside for a freaking week and not just call from the comfort of home. If this issue did not cost you any money out of pocket..it is not a ripoff by any means..so next year buy a freaking tent and freeze your a*s off for a week like everyone else..or pay retail if you choose to opt out of freezing your a*s off for a week.

Get it?

You ordered a washer and dryer and Best Buy somehow scammed you by not charging you for the appliances?

Why I continued the sale

AUTHOR: madandpissed - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 10, 2009

First I would like to explain myself a little better. Please takespecial note of the infomation. I was actully on thte phone with Best Buy when the sale kicked in. She immediatly put in my order. So it was not like I had to call and wait for someone to answer. When I was getting ready for best buy I had called Best Buy 800 number to ask questions (is this the product I wanted). I was informed that I could call the warehouse direct on Black Friday and that would be the best way to make sure I got a set. That is why I was calling and not ordering online. I received e-mails from the start of the order and on December 2 I was sent a conformationfor delivery on the 15th. So now you tell me. If you had been given 2 confirmation would you not think that your items were on the way and the sale is complete.

Scam?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 10, 2009

Your right, Best Buy has nothing better to do than to intentionally sell items that they don't have.  Then instead of trying to up-sell you on a "better" item when they find out they don't have enough they refund your money.  Wow, what a wonderful scam.

Black Friday sales are known for limited quantities because they are a "good" deal.  As a result you probably had several hundred if not thousands of people right at the start of the sale trying to buy the same items.  Whether the system could not keep up with true quantity at that moment, they didn't receive as many from the manufacturer as they were promised, or some other thing out of their control is not really known.  But what does not make sense in this case is why were you CALLING them for a sale over the Internet?

In the end you are out no money and a little time.  This is no different than if you had been one of the people who wait in line at the stores a couple of days in advance only to find out that the person in front of you got the last item.
