I was completely unhappy with Best Buy. I bought a Dell M1330 laptop. I had problems with the wireless. I found out after purchase that Dell products purchased at Best Buy are NOT supported by Dell but by Best Buy. Dell provides free support for hardware or configuration issues.

Best buy wanted $169 to talk to me since they only support hardware failures not any other type of wireless issues. I returned the laptop with a 15% restocking fee. In my opinion this was shameless and bordered on fraud since the box, the store and the salesman never say that Dell doesn't provide support. In fact the box talks about the Dell warranty.

I recommend that no one shop there. (((Redacted))) while not perfect, is a much better bet.

Please disregard the previous comment. Dell has a special relationship with Best Buy. Any warranty on the computer is handled by Best Buy. The following is the message provided when a person who purchased the computer through Best buy calls Dell:

"Dell systems purchased through Best Buy are sold with a Carry in Service. Dell only provides basic troubleshooting on limited items such as System Setup (checking external cables), resolution of mouse, keyboard, AC adapter and battery issues. All other troubleshooting is supported by Geek Squad, located inside Best Buy stores."

If the customer does not have a hardware warranty issue, but has a usage or configuration question then they may be charged for the help. If you feel it is a hardware warranty issue, please make sure that the local technicians understand this and that it is covered. If the technician you are working with does not understand, ask to speak with a supervisor. Front line agents do not always have experience with all policies.

Dell does ABSOLUTELY support what they've manufactured no matter where it's sold. You have a one year manufacture warranty. Call them and put up a fight. If you didn't buy the service plan from Best Buy after 14 days of ownership then yes, they have to charge you for repairs. Best Buy is NOT Dell why should they have to pay for the repairs? Second, never ever buy a Dell again! They are cheap crap. Pure crap. Pay cheap prices, get cheap junk.
