Ok, so my wife and I go to Best Buy on Black Friday Nov. 24th at 4am because they say they are having a 5am - 11am super special. So we wake up and go to the sale.

At 7:30 i get to order the TV for the sale price of 999.99 because they run out of stock by thetime i get to the front of the line. Im ok with this,so I pay for it I order it and make plans to come pick it up on Nov. 29th.

on Sunday Nov. 26th i see the same TV for the same price plus free shipping and a free HoMedics - Antigravity Recliner Massage Chair - I call them up to see if I can get free delivery or the free chair and i get nothing.

All i get is a rude Supervisor telling me the same thing over "we cant match online offers with store offers" so im SoL she tells me. I can return the TV i paid for and order the one online but I dont have 1k sitting in my bank account and the refund will take 7-10 days to get to me by check in the mail they say.

so needless to say im P.O.ed at Best Buy for advertising things for sale and making me go out of my way for that sale and then 2 days later selling it at a better offer.

Glad you got it resolved...

It should NEVER take 7-10 days to receive a credit card refund. The reason why those schmucks in the store told you that was because they didn't want to lose that kind of revenue that late in the month. I would bring that up to store management the next time that you are in. The $50 gift card? That's peanuts compared to what they hope that you will spend when you come in. Best Buy loves gift cards-it is proven that people will spend a lot more than with cash alone. Good luck in the future with them...

this is what i did.

ok so here is what i did.

i returned my store purchase and ordered it online. today they did not have the free chair but they did have it at 899.99 so i saved 100 dollars and i got the free delivery and the taxes were less online then they were at the store.

i did pay it with a credit card but they still told me 7-10 days so i guess i will eat it for those days.

someone said - "It is common knowledge that sale prices and promotions change on a daily basis in the retail world."

and i guess you were right, the only thing is that it wasnt common knowledge to me and im sure many other people dont either.

i fell for the bait but i fixed it and now i know better for next year.

either way im happy i got to return it and purchace it cheaper online and they gave me a $50 gift card when i called them. (maybe i didnt get ripped off then)

leason learned for me. Ty all for ur help.

No rip off ...

Why is it a rip off that Best Buy will not price match an "online only" offer? "Online only" means just that! It is available ONLY if you purchase it ONLINE.

It is common knowledge that sale prices and promotions change on a daily basis in the retail world. That is why it is important to SHOP AROUND and make informed decisions. You voluntarily chose to buy the TV during the after-Thanksgiving sale. The fact that now there is some promotion for a free Homemedics vibrator with the TV does NOT make this a rip off .. it is just the reality of the retail environment.

In general, Best Buy will price match their online offers. The exclusion to this is web only specials, which this case is.

Stores do not have the capacity to meet the demand of large televisions, so Best Buy will run specials such as these to move their warehouse inventory.

The 7-10 days sounds to me like you paid with either a check or cash. This is standard practice with most retailers when dealing with a return that is such a large amount. Had you paid with a credit card, or check card, your money would have been back in your account within 48 hours (or sooner) and you would have had to have had one or the other to pay online anyways.

I know that it sucks, but Best Buy has to have a way to get consumers to purchase online, rather than shop/compare and then go to the store.
