This company is a classic example of how racketeering and extortion in the moving company can go unchecked because of the severe lack of regulation.

"Best Time Movers" (they should really be sued for misleading advertising here, "Worst Time Movers" would be more correct) will take you for a ride and then some. They certainly did for me. My initial estimate was in the range of 800 dollars, but when FOUR men showed up to pack up my tiny apartment items, lollygagged around, and then charged me over 600 dollars for packing and labor, my quote went up to around 1500 dollars. I was asked to go to the weighing station, which I refused, b/c I wasn't going to drive with men I didn't know in a truck for 2 hours to a weighing station. Furthermore, I felt that you shouldn't have to accompany any reputable company; the weight should be the same whether you're there or not, right? The truth is, reputable moving companies don't have time to weigh and re-weigh your belongings, and aren't going to mess around with that.

Well, of course my items were "overweight" when they got to the station. They told me my items weighed 2600 pounds, when I know for a FACT, because I called the manufacturers, that my items weigh just about 1000 pounds. My final charge was going to be over two-thousand dollars, almost 3 times my initial estimate. Well at this point, I called it quits and told BETTY ROSEN (who seems to be everywhere on this site) that I no longer wanted her services, and wanted my items returned. She then said she wouldn't return my items for no less than 1700 dollars, altogether 600 dollars MORE than what my original estimate would've been in total. Currently, BETTY ROSEN is holding my items in an undisclosed location, despite my asking for them to be returned. An ethical moving company would've returned my items by now.

This "company" (I don't think you can even call it a company, they deal in swindling, not in transactions) has it coming to them. What goes around, comes around. I will pursue every avenue I can to retrieve my money and belongings (heck, I might even get an extra buck or two out of it! I'll take that money in a settlement for sure.) The FBI busted 16 moving companies just like this in Florida in 2003; it will happen in Rockville soon, trust.
