I am renting and have had to deal with roaches, mold, damage to property, landlord allowing people to come into home without notice, no hot water, etc.  The list goes on and on.

I sent a letter to the BBB requesting assistance.  This is the response I received:

I asked why they wouldn't help and have not heard back.  This tells me that the BBB will help who they want and not help the people who need assistance.  I will NEVER ask for assistance again.  What a worthless agency.  Again, just a bunch of people behind a desk who want money and don't want to help.

The BBB

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 22, 2020

I am really not sure what you think the BBB would do. The BBB is NOT a Government Agency and has zero authority to require a company to do anything. In addition, the BBB is funded by the same companies you are complaining about. I am not saying that they don't help some, but they are not this all-powerful agency that many people think they are.

Now, as to your complaint what did you want them to do? The most they could do is ask the landlord to stop entering your apartment without notice. But as mentioned the landlord could choose to just ignore them. If you are thinking of something like breaking the lease or other monetary damage, you need to talk to an attorney.

But before that, you first have to ask what was the reason they were entering your apartment? If they were there for an "Emergency" situation they don't need your approval.  An emergency would be anything where there is property damage occurring(or will occur) or a health and safety issue.
