I have 15 years in the food service/management field. When asked if I had ever been a general/store manager, I replied no, as I have been an assistant and shift manager for numerous businesses. Now when I attempt to apply for these types of possitions(shift and assistant manager), I am denied. When I contacted them, they said that they could not change it and nothing could be done! There is a reason for this. The website does not care if you find a job or not. They care about selling your personal information to outside companies. Since registering with them, I recieve daily phone calls from fake online colleges and gift card rip-off scam artists. In my initial application with this company, I filled out a form stating that I am a full-time student! Why would I want to further my education when I already am?! I have always hit the NO THANK YOU button when there has been a pop-up asking about school. I have wasted over a month filling out numerous applications and have not gotten a single responce from an employer. The more information you give, the more they can sell! And now, I cant even apply for the jobs I am qualified for!! It makes no sense at all. This site only wants to profit out of your desperation and is not interested in placing you with a job!!! JOB SEEKER BEWARE!!!

AUTHOR: Beyond.com - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 08, 2013

We at Beyond.com saw your report and were concerned that you had a bad experience.   We have investigated your complaint and found that the behavior you described is not consistent with our policies or actions.

At Beyond.com we pride ourselves on helping people build their careers, so we don’t prevent candidates from applying to jobs that are above their current level.   If you attempted to apply to a job that was posted to Beyond.com and were denied the ability to apply, it may be because you did not have a resume posted to Beyond.com or that you were directed to another site to apply to a position.  That site may have asked for your current job title and prevented you from submitting your application based upon your current title.  Please note that many applications actually occur on the hiring companies’ sites, and we don’t manage that process.   In such cases, we only provide the venue to view available jobs.

As for the inquiries you’re receiving in regards to continuing your education, there is a check box on the Beyond.com registration form that asks if you’re interested in continuing your education.   Only if you express interest in learning about educational opportunities do we authorize our affiliates to contact an interested member.  Please note that you have the opportunity to manage your account settings and email options, including whether you are interested in continuing education information.  In regards to the gift card inquiries, we don’t currently work with any partners that sell gift cards, so that activity is not related to us.

We know that conducting a job search can be challenging.   If you have any questions pertaining to our site or services, please get in touch with us directly at: 866-694-5627 or CustomerService@Beyond.com.   We hope that you’ll contact us soon so that we can introduce you to the many things that the Beyond.com Career Network has to offer.
