I placed an order on their website Monday morning. They later asked for a picture of my Drivers License to assure it was me who placed the order. I complied. They then decided to not honor my order because they don't feel comfortable with accepting credit cards and want me to wire transfer money to them instead. They already have my credit card number and Drivers License and THEY are not comfortable? How am I assured I am not wire transferring money to some Nigerian? All the reviews for them seem fake, I would now rather stick with other well known PM dealers!

Industry Standard Risk Prevention

AUTHOR: Thomas - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Like all Precious Metals Dealers, we at BGASC.com have risk prevention policies in place to protect our business against credit card fraud.

This first time customer placed two orders which were time stamped for Tuesday the 17th at 12:11am and 4:29am PST.  The combined order total for this customer was over $22,000.00 to be charged by a credit card.  As with all orders our systems conducted an automated review of the order, to confirm it’s legitimacy.  The review was unable to confirm or reject the legitimacy of the order, and so we conducted follow up review by an employee, as part of this process we requested a photo of the front and back of the customer’s driver’s license.  This and other information we had gathered from the automated process were to help evaluate and review the order.

Our review turned up a few red flags that we commonly see associated with fraudulent transactions.  These flags are not proof of fraud, and many can have reasonable and honest explanations; however when we see a dense clustering of these risk factors we request that an order be converted to check payment, or wire payment.  Changing to either form of payment would have reduced the order total and saved the customer nearly $900.  The customer refused to change their payment type, and so the order was cancelled.  Because the order was cancelled by our investigation, we waived all market loss and cancellation fees.  The customer was never charged for anything.

Finally we have implement 3rd party management of our reviews via TRUSTPILOT.  We cannot edit or delete bad reviews, and have no control over their content. We do this precisely so that people can have full faith in our reviews.
