BGMC Branded Group Marketing Concepts awful New York New York

an exceedingly prevalent strain of anti-intellectualism seems to have germinated throughout the tri state area in regards to "marketing". the posh new thing to do in "marketing" is lie about the job you're posting and then f*** people over who are looking for a real vocation.

BGMC lies about what the job entails, blatantly. they try to pass it off as a service they do on behalf of the world. "yea we work with UNICEF". guess what- UNICEF has no clue who these slapd**** are.

they "fundraise" for non-profits but it's just a way to get commission money in their own pockets... i respect you trying to put food on your table but dont waste my f****** time and lie to me about the actual responsiblites of job you've posted.

they say "yea come in for an interview..." for "a marketing job". making it seem as though you're going to be stationed in a kushy office. actually applying what you've learned at university to working out ad campaigns, budgetary appropriations, and web brand development.

no.

they literally send you out onto the street to beg people for money. it's glorified homelessness. you essentially badger new yorkers to take out their credit card and give you all their info. they teach you a critically acclaimed sales pitch, which, when employed by even their "finest" sales reps, still gets absolutely s*** on by new yorkers who have no time for their malarkey.

and they tell you that you can fly up the ladder and become, wait for it..... A MANAGER! IN TWO MONTHS! if i can become a manager so easily in two months, then why are there people there doing the same entry level job that are 35 years old? have they been trying to make their way up the ladder since their graduation in 2002?

they're located in a silicon valley aesthetic-ish building. it looks cool until you have to sit there waiting for them to get their act together for 45 minutes at a clip (45 minutes is the official amount of time you have to waste before doing anything in sales). you also realize there's only one office for the 20+ people that work there, which actually turns out to be perfect because you don't need an office when you're out prostituting yourself on the street. the place looks nice, they have beer on tap in the concourse area of the floor, but it's a joke of a revolving door that sends suckers in and out to profit off of them (no wonder there's beer on tap). 

there are also a collection of (((REDACTED))) contract stipulations that say they'll suspend your BASE PAY (illegal) if you don't make a sale in like 48 hours. s**t like that is the theme of the dream over at BGMC.

the place is a catastrophe from top to bottom. bunch of poor people working there just trying to keep their heads above water. which is cool, and good for them, but dont let the management f*** you over into working there like they did them.

they're shady and ambiguous about what the job entails cause they know if they were straight up with people they wouldnt be able to f*** anyone into working for them.
