On Saturday, September 20th, I met "Dee" (or Lovadee or Deanne or DeeAnn) Patton (or Cobbin) at Houston's International Airport. She brought a small male maltipoo puppy with her that I purchased and flew home with. Since it was the weekend, I took the puppy the following Tuesday to my vet for a second round of vaccinations. The puppy became very ill by the next day, and finally died of complications of SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) which is presumed to be an inherited disorder in both humans and dogs. The puppy was in a lot of pain and died violently and suddenly with severe convulsions.
At first, Ann was sympathetic - she promised me another puppy and admitted that it sounded like the puppy's death was due to a genetic defect. I told her what my vet had diagnosed and she therefore knew I had documentation the very day the puppy died. She promised again, the day after the puppy died, to replace the puppy. The puppy had been a gift to my son who is allergic to a lot of animals - we have one maltipoo already, purchased from another breeder who is now retired. So we have dealt with breeders before.
Now neither Ann or her supposed husband Everett will return my calls. The second contact number they gave me also goes unanswered (listed as the fax above). Both of their Cell phones are listed as being with Cricket and a reverse look up indicates that they are in Houston. After researching other negative commentaries on the internet regarding Big Block Kennels it would appear we are not the first victims.

We also bought a puppy close to the same time and we were also going to pay with pay pal and ann told us not to because her account was frozen...... hmmmm I wonder why her account would be frozen..... I dont understand how it would work for you while account was frozen. Maybe the this person who posted this statement was a friend of ann or maybe ann herself. it makes one wonder!

My wife and I just got married and she saved up enough money to purchase a tiny tea cup chihuahua. She found one from Big Block Kennels and decided to purchace a small three month old female.
She set up the order and we paid using pay pal. I had to send some paperwork to ann using my fax machine at work. I am a Deputy Sheriff in California. When I was sending the fax my dispatcher did some research about big block kennels and told me all the negative feedback people have been leaving about them.
I called ann and questioned her about the reports. Ann was very helpful and answered all my questions. The puppy arrived on time and in good condition. She is healthy and very small just has tea cups should be.
Ann was very concerned for the puppys well being during the transaction. She called us several times to make sure we knew what we were doing and to give us special instructions. The puppy arrived late, 1am Houstin time, and ann wanted a call as soon as we picked her up.
Ann wanted phone calls at anytime day or night if we had any problems or needed any advise about how to care for the puppy.
Thanks for reading. I just wanted to share my experience with Big Block Kennels after recieving good service from them.
