Complaint Description:
April 7, 2005 Bill Heard convinced my daughter to trade them her 2002 Honda Accord for their used 2005 Dodge Stratus, because her Honda was being repossessed due to errors in Hondas computer where her last four payments were never put into the computer. They told her her beacon scores was too low that they needed her family to sign, she was in a position where she needed the car for employment, so I signed with the understanding we would refinance in 6mo in her name only. On April 27th Bill Heard calls me in and asks me to resign again claiming they could not get the financing they had promised, I asked about the Honda and the 1,000 dollars my daughter put down, they said the Honda had sold, they claimed this happens sometimes that its no problem they had plenty of lenders to choose from. I signed the papers again thinking all was good. Two days later I along with 300 other employees where I worked got laid-off, I began a new career search. I got this letter on 5/13/2005; ************************************************* Bill Heard Chevrolet - Nashville 5333 Hickory Hollow Parkway Antioch, TN 37013-3109 Service Phone: (615) 731-3020 www.biliheardnashville.com RAYMOND A GAULDIN 209 LIMERICK ST MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE 37129 May 11, 2005 Dear RAYMOND A GAULDIN, ---"- _------ _ Congratulations and welcome to the Bill Heard family. Wishing you many safe miles, Bill Heard Chevrolet - - -- __ -- - Aaron Walker General Manager ". VIN: 1B3EL46X25N538736 _ Genuine Chevrolet. II. CHEVY TRUCKS _ ************************************************* At this point I felt everything was fine. I started a new job on 5/23/2005 which required me leaving town for 2 weeks for training. I find out while I'm away, Bill Heard had sent a wreaker to pickup the car. My Daughter to whom had the car insured and was waiting on a payment book when to Bill Heard to check out what's going on, she said that Mr. Mayfield was very vulgar with her had had slammed his fists down on his desk while screaming vulgar words at her, she was with a friend that verified this, she was scared and left immediately. Next day she contacts the general manager and explains what she experienced and informed him that she could obtain financing through her Credit Union where she worked, he said fine and told her the price she needed, the wrecker guy kept coming to the house scaring my wife along with some detective representing Bill Heard calling leaving threating messages.

Several days later my daughter gets a check in the amount specified by Bill Heard and goes there and they tell her the deals off they won't accept it and not to blame them because her father was a loser and couldn't get a loan. I get back from training on 6/3/05 late in evening and get all the stories from my wife and daughter. Today 6/4/2005, I contacted Bill Heard and said I will bring the car in if they have my 1,000 deposit (which is my daughter) the girl on the phone said yes they had it there. We get there and I asked to speak to Mr. Mayfield, I wanted to see why this situation go so far out of control and to see if there was any way to salvage it, I waited a hour and a half and had Mr. Mayfield paged four times, he never showed, my daughter seen the sales woman who handled our account, she told her we had to leave the car and our check was with the wreaker service guy (lie), we contacted the wreaker guy who was not available, I asked for a receipt showing I returned the car, the woman said no. So I took the car and came home, until I reach my lawyer on Monday! Any advise!

Your Desired Resolution:
I want my daughters 1,000 deposit. I want a letter of apology for the verbal abuse and threatening manor in which they treated my family! I want a receipt showing they have received the car and I'm no longer responsible! I want the profit they made on selling my daughters Honda, they lied when they would not finance her in the beginning obviously because her credit union had no problem with giving her a loan. This whole deal reeks of FRAUD!!!

This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response. It can take up to 30 days for the Bureau to receive a response/resolution to your complaint. You will be notified when the business has responded.

I feel your pain

AUTHOR: Tami - (U.S.A.)

I, too purchased my vehicle from Bill Heard, and got screwed in the process. I purchased mine in 2002, trading in my 2 door Saturn for a 4 door Cavalier. Well, the payments were a little more, but they convinced me that it's worth it because I have a warranty. They took my car, and tacked on $6000 negative equity (so my car was only worth $3000- for a Saturn which has a higher value than a Chevy?). They deposited my check two weeks early, causing me $400 in bank fees (which I immediately called and informed them they would pay), failed to service my vehicle appropriately, causing me to have to stay in Nashville (an hour from home) from my appointment time of 11 am until 4 pm, almost causing me to be late tp oick up my son (just for an oil change and to look at my stereo, which they tried to take out, trying to send me 40 mi home with out radio, only to drive 40 miles back down to put it back in the next week). I never got that service survey. I have had nothing but problems from them and their car, and since all the problems happened just past the warranty, they don't care. I've contacted Chevy several times to resolve my problems, and they don't care. My credit is weak, and with my husband in school, I don't have $5000 to put down on a new car, and I am now stuck with a worthless car, as they no longer make this model and so the trade in value plummeted, that has had more problems with it than my used Saturn did! My advise for you, sir, is to tell EVERYONE you know to AVOID Bill Heard. I learned too late.
