On 20 September, I went into Billy Bob's Bedrooms to purchase a full size bookcase bed for my youngest daughter. I was told there were plenty in stock in the warehouse and I should have it in approximately 2 weeks. The bed was finally delivered on 17 Oct. (Nearly a month later!) When it was delivered, I paid for the men to put it together. The bookcase/headboard part of the bed was damaged. They stated on the form that needed to be signed stating they delivered it that they would replace the damaged head board and that it would take "approximately 2 weeks" for the replacement to come. I have heard NOTHING from this company since 17 October. (Today is 23 January 2013) They have had over 3 months to order and replace this damaged piece of the bed which they said they would on the paper that was initialed and signed when they delivered. Now, when I call on 23 January 2013, they want to send out a technician to "fix it". This is ridiculous! This company was hoping they would just get off with doing nothing. I explained to "Amber" on the phone that I don't want a jacked up "fix" on a particle board bed. I paid for a new one and I want a new one. They even did a shoddy job putting it together, but now this is just insulting.

It is unacceptable to expect me to keep a damaged piece of furniture after I was already promised a replacement. They guys that set it up were so confident I was getting a replacement that they didn't even attach it to the bed.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM-THEY ARE DIRT CHEAP FOR A REASON!!!!! Pay the extra money and get the service and product you deserve!

I'll add an update after the "technician" come out. I'll also post before and after pictures. This should be good. *SARCASM*

Small Business with Big Business Problems

AUTHOR: Josie - ()

POSTED: Saturday, August 09, 2014

I went to buy a bedroom set at Billy Bobs Furnishing SA.  I was attracted to the low prices and their payment options.  When I went to the store they had friendly staff.  It started getting ugly when I received a call from them to say the furniture was in , but was not going to be delivered until a whole week later, because she said they only delivered Saturdeays and this Saturday they were already booked and only had one delivery person.  I told her that was not what they told me when I bought the furniture.  They said they would deliver at my convenience.  Well, that was that.  I received another call the following week saying they were calling to deliver the furniture and a message was left.  I tried to return the call with no response from the business.  The next day I receive a call that they are going to deliver the furniture in the next thirty minutes.  Upon arrival, two young boys arrived and said where is the furniture going and I told them upstairs.  I started telling the boy I wanted the bed here and the dresser here and he said, " it's only delivery not set up."  I said I payed for the set up and I was going to show him my receipt when he called and someone told him to set it up.  The other boy said," well it was only suppose to be a delivery, so hurry and show me, because we have other places to go.  He seemed bothered by the fact that he had to set up the furniture, which is what I payed for. As they were opening the boxes i saw one of the boys looking and feeling one of the drawers. I turned on the ceiling fan for them and offered them something to drink and they said they were fine.  I was going to ask what he kept looking and feeling the dresser drawer, but then my baby started crying, so I left the room to attend to my baby.  I have trouble walking and use an assistive device to walk and was taking care of my baby downstairs, so when they were done they came down and said it was done.  I told them to please wait so I can go see the furniture.  when I came down they were no where in sight and I was going to tell them that one of the drawers was kind of bent and the wood was defective.  So I tried to call them with no answer.  They came back later, and I was thinking, oh they came back to look at the drawer.  No they came asking for a dOllie and to see if they had left it.  I told them no I did not see it outside where they said they left it.  I then told them about the dresser and he said he didn't know anything about it.  I told him I saw you looking at it when you were setting it up, why didn't you say anything.  He said sorry.  Then he just walked away.  I closed the door and then a second later the other boy comes and tells me that they went I don't know where and blah blah blah and that he thinks they left the dully outside.  I told him I did not see it .  I also told him about the dresser and he said I had to call them and tell them and I told him I did and they did not answer me.  A few minutes later I received a call from the store and I am thinking, finally, they are going to do something about my dresser.  No the caller asked me about the dOllie and I told him the young boys had come by and asked about the dollie.  I told the man on the phone that I thought he was calling about the defective dresser and he said that there was nothing they can do about it.  I told him that it looks like they have poor business etiquette and that it was kind of shady business.  I also told them I had read many of the bad reviews and was dreading that something like this would happen.  He said it seems like you set yourself to think that.  I told him how can I set myself for someone's poor business ethics and before I could say anymore he hung up and I tried calling again and no one has answered since. So I am stuck with a defective dresser and no one cares.

we were scammed by them as well

We went into furnish sa on Thursday February 20th. We purchased over $2,500.00 worth of furniture in one bedroom set. (timberline from Ashley furniture) We were told the pieces we wanted were in stock and ready to be delivered which we later discovered was something we were told only to close the sale, since we had a time limit we needed our furniture in and would have shopped elsewhere had we been informed that they weren't available. The owner informed us that we would be receiving a call the next day, Friday the 21st, to set up delivery. We were not contacted that day, and we had to call in ourselves to ask what was going on. We were then told that our pieces weren't actually in stock and that it would be several weeks before we'd receive them. This was not okay with as, as this was not the purchase agreement we agreed to, and the owner told us "oh well, there is a no refund policy".

Our credit card company disagrees with that method of fraud on the owners part, and says there is. we began calling the warehouse daily to find out where our order was, and they informed us that they had no record of our invoice what so ever, and it took them another day to locate that. Our pieces were not delivered until 10 days after our agreed upon delivery date. When they were delivered, 6 out of the 8 pieces were damaged. Our order included 2 night stands, a headboard, a footboard, 2 under bed storage units, a full dresser and mirror. The only pieces not damaged or different from the advertising pictures were the nightstands. the delivery men took pictures of the damage and sent them in to furnish sa. Pieces of broken wood, cracks in the bed posts, resin stains and scratches in the mirror, plus there was no hardware to build several of the pieces.

We were told when we complained about all the damaged pieces, that new ones would be reordered and that we would be contacted three days later about when new ones would be delivered to us again. As before, we were not called, and had to call ourselves, and (cont..(cont..)no one had contacted Ashley furniture about having our pieces replaced and were instead trying to have us agree to have a tech repair the pieces but still not discount the damaged pieces. We paid for brand new completely intact pieces and want them replaced within 10 business days, or, if they are damaged again, or the damaged pieces are not replaced, we want a refund of 80% of our purchase total plus refund of our delivery and installation fees. in not, our cc comp. will refund in full

Billy Bobs Bedrooms furnish SA San Antonio Home Furnishings

Liz,

I sympathize with your experience.  I'm curious to find out how your horrible experience worked out.  I too have had an extremely bad experience with this rinky dink little company.

What caught my eye was the advertisement of Ashley Furniture.  I have always bought Ashley Furniture and am new to San Antonio.  Welcome to San Antonio!

My experience is very similar to yours.  I bought a bedroom set and paid for delivery.  When the items were delivered we opened the boxes to put the furniture together and the dresser was damaged.  Also, the railing brackets were installed incorrectly.  So, we immediately called the store and notified the sales rep who informed us that they would re-order the furniture and to keep the furniture until the new ones come in and they would deliver them and pick up the damaged goods.

Same experience as everyone else.  After you pay in full, the receipt is given with a disclosure stating their no refund all sales are final policy.  Nothing is posted in the store to inform you and they don't tell you before hand that they have this policy.  This should've been a red flag because any reputable company honors the products that are sold.  Needless to say, after arguing with the owner, he tells me he'll look into it.  Then, we're forced to deal with one of his salesman who can't say anything with out talking to the owner.  The salesman reorders the furniture and tells us it will be here in two weeks and it will be delivered and they'll pick up they're damaged product.

Now, that the furniture is in (keep in mind, they don't have the decency to contact us) they tell us we made an agreement to go pick up our furniture and deliver his damaged goods.  Who would do that?  Ridiculous! This guy is a liar and a scammer.  He has no business representing the Ashley Furniture name!
DO NOT buy from this store!  You will regret it!

Tina

This guy has a lot of nerve!  So, the rebuttal he's referring to about envious business owners is ridiculous.
