Blau Plumbing Overpriced and won't file the proper permits with the city! BEWARE! Milwaukee, Wisconsin

A quick comment, Blau's reputation has been hard-earned, and I don't mean in a good way. A poor sucker who needs plumbing work and doesn't have time to get a reference might end up with Blau or Flat Rate. There's a reason why they are the only two plumbing companies running a boatload of advertising.

Be prepared to pay approximately double what a scrupulous plumber might charge for the same work. Case in point, several years ago my mother (against my warnings) hired Blau to replace a leaking water heater. Should have been an $800 job at most, including installation & disposal. Instead they charged her nearly $1,500 for the work. They also suggested that all the galvanized piping in her house was going to burst any second and should be replaced with copper, easily a $5k job. Fortunately she didn't buy into that fake emergency. Yes, it was her fault for hiring Blau without shopping around or asking for a proper reference, but it was an expensive lesson none-the-less.

My recommendation, ask your neighbors who they use for plumbing work. Or, talk with someone at the local hardware store (NOT a big-box like Lowes or HD) and get a reference. Reputable plumbers take pride in their work and charge a fair price, while outfits like Blau & Flat Rate are a black eye to the trade.

You can spout all of the numbers you want trying to make yourself look important but it doesn't negate the fact that your company didn't bother to follow proper code/laws as well as turned a small job into something much bigger than it needed to be. If you were concerned about actually fixing the problem (like you claim you are) you would have responded to our complaints we made directly to your company... they probably ended up in the trash by your non-caring employees... may want to look into hiring better employees.

Anyways, since we no longer own said property it doesn't matter anymore. We don't need to use the likes of you again and we accomplished letting others know about your poor service.

My Husband is in the Heating and Air buissness here in Milwaukee. We would talk about some of these rip off places. They are bad and look out for Flat Rate, even bigger rip. If Blau has any decency left, ask to speak to the owner and explain what you just said here. See if they will bend a little. Next time try going with a smaller buissness and get all the costs on paper before they begin work. I would suggest Debelak. My husband worked for them and they are a good company and fair with there costs.
