PUBLIC WARNING
Domestic and international experience shows that one of the best ways to fight against companies with no authorisation to provide investment services is the use of publicity to warn investors about those companies.

Section 13 of the Law 24/1988 on the Securities Markets Act entrusts the CNMV with the function of overseeing the transparency of the securities markets and the protection of investors by promoting the disclosure of any information necessary to achieve these
goals. Therefore, the CNMVs Executive Committee has decided to change the information policy related to non-authorised companies and has agreed to publish warnings, at the CNMVs website, about those companies of which there is suspicion or some evidence
of carrying out any of the activities reserved to investments firms without being registered in the corresponding administrative register, nor being in possession of the mandatory administrative authorisation. The said decision does not mean that there has been an increase in the number of nonauthorised entities but rather, as explained before, that there has been a change in the CNMVs information policy. Therefore, the list of companies attached to this press release includes not only those companies recently detected but also most of the companies that have been brought to the CNMVs attention in the last three years. In accordance with this change of information policy, the CNMV shall issue warnings through its web site, from now on, about the existence of non-authorised companies that the CNMV shall detect, irrespective of the fact that once suspicion or evidence are confirmed, the CNMV shall proceed to institute the corresponding administrative sanctioning file.
The list containing non-authorised companies is available at the internet website www.cnmv.es/inversores/index.htm within the heading named Advertencias/Avisos al Pblico (Warnings/Public Warnings).
