I was interested in a computer from blue hippo so i started sending payments in 2007, it added up $405.00 I stopped sending payments when i found out you had to pay the full amount. So they told me i could not get my money back i had to purchase a item with the money i had in the account,so i did that on 11-06-09 purchase a 17 inch computer monitor for $148.00 plus the $29.00 money order for shipping & handling i still have $251.00 in the account. So i called to see if they received the money order they did recevied it. So i was told i would get my monitor in 4 to 8 weeks i never received it, now i go online  theirs no website, the phones are busy so i go online and find they file bankruptcy  so what is a person to do in this situation please let this consumer know. thank you

What to do? Absolutely nothing...

AUTHOR: Ceadda - (U.S.A.)

They changed the type of their bankruptcy to admit they basically have no money. Refunds will not be coming and there's really nothing anyone can do about it. Don't expect to receive a monitor either.

The basic idea is that they made and wasted plenty of money (probably stuffing their own pockets) by getting naive people to send money weekly for computers they could have picked up for $250 at any Target, Walmart or local discount retailer. They most likely planned to go out of business at some point as the whole idea of what they were selling is absolutely stupid.

The only thing to can do is actually read the terms of something before you buy it. (You WERE informed up front you'd have to pay the entire amount before receiving anything.) Perhaps also being sure you can look up the price and model number of anything you are buying by mail so you know what you are paying matches what it's worth.

Personally, I'll miss the blue hippo commercials as they were great for a laugh. I mean, just the thought of that ridiculous payment system with 2 screens of legal disclaimer scrolling down my tv.
