On January 1/2016 I bought a bluebird prepaid debit card at walmart. I loaded it with $250 and tried to register it January 2-2016 To my disbelief I couldn't register the card so I called bluebird for help. After almost an hour on hold I was told that there already is a card registered in my name. Not to my knowledge! After being told this I was advised to try to register using different information: email, phone number, etc. How was I to know what info was used when I did not already have a bluebird card? I requested a refund and was told they can't refund my money due to the card not being registered. Again I tried to register, with no luck.

So again I called both bluebird and American Express and got no where with them. Once again I was on hold 30 minutes and on the call with them over 3 hours. I talked with their fraud department due to the already registered card not being mine, but my info was used to register it. I was told that card was already a closed account so try to register again. I still couldn't register my card. I called every day, went online daily trying to register and on January 18th was told try to register in someone else's name.

( isn't this fraud?) and once I'm registered they'll send a permanent card So I registered using my moms info. Got the new permanent card and still couldn't register it! So again another 3 hours on the phone trying to register the card. Get it registered and my money doesn't show up on the account! I call bluebird for the 15th time and I'm told that yes the account is registered but the money is still on the temporary card due to my registering in the wrong format. So now I have 2 cards, still can't access my money and have been told I will get a new permanent card and once it's registered I'll get a refund. That was over two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for the new card! I called bluebird on the 23rd and was told the card is in the mail. Bluebird by American Express is a scam and a ripoff! Will I ever see my money? I highly doubt it. Their customer service is nonexistent.
