Perhaps the better solution is for you not to have a bank account - clearly you have no idea how to either manage the account, or money in general.  You don't have to be rich to avoid account fees.  You simply how to manage your account and your money.  Overdrawing your account the way you do is idiotic and avoidable.  After all, it is your account.  All the bank does is manage the deposits and withdrawls from the account you direct then to do.  If you spend more than what you have, is that the bank's fault?  NO.  If you want to complain about the fees - don't.  You agreed to those fees when you signed up for the account.  You may not like it, but it's what you agreed to.

Are credit unions better?  Marginally.  Some have adopted the same fee structure as banks do, so the universal thought that credit unions are always better, isn't so true any longer.  They also provide less services than a bank would, which makes them marginal institutions.

Your complaint has nothing to do with your lack of wealth, or that rich people don't have issues like this.  Rich people I know have this issue happen to them and many poor people don't have this issue.  Maybe a rich person can afford to do this, but eventually they won't be rich if it continues for any length of time.  The poor who can avoid this, eventually can learn to be rich. 

Rich vs. poor has nothing to do with what happened to you.  Your own mismanagement of your own money is the problem...and that is the real truth.

 And your over about a dollar you deserve a $48 of fee plus a $7 dollar fee fees on top of fees monthly maintenance fee on what ?and the person says do not spend to much ! Must be a rich person not to understand how it’s set up to fail . Or must work in a bank to like fees maybe they have not been fees to death wait till it happens to them ! Peace out everyone knows how to spend but when you opt out to not have a purchase to go thru then forced thru for $5 then you get jammed for $48 a joke ! Lol does not get it . Need to stay with small banks credit union.. watch what you spend your right use a credit card pay it in full every month ! No fees find a free feeless bank ! Got ITV glad your rich !
