Body of Change is a terrible employer. I work at la fitness and this is the kind of stuff that goes on with the body of change people. For example:

One of the personal trainers apparently got fired by corporate and neither he, nor the General Manager were informed. He was telling everyone that he tried to schedule a training appointment and a message came up that said he was no longer employed and thats how he found out.

Also, a lot of customers complain that they had a training appointment and when they arrived it was not in the computer, even though they watched the trainer put them into the computer. The computer system is always messing up and they complain about it every single day.

I could really go on forever but I don't want to type anymore. If you wanna know more just reply to this and i'll fill you in.

#8 UPDATE Employee

not Kyle or Justin

AUTHOR: Bocgv - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 14, 2007

actually I am the GM in Grapevine. My name is Isaac. I have worked at 5 different LA Fitness locations. I was once demoted. Once I figured out that it was not anything external that was me back, work was a lot better. Every single other gym that a personal trainer trains at has quotas and goals for each trainer to sell. We do not.

If a trainer wants to make more money he can. If not, he can simply open his schedule up and train basically whenever he wants to. Alls I ask my trainers is to care about the people they train, and do whats expected of them. Nothing more, nothing less. If someone has the aptitude they can move up to a sales position. If not they can springboard to bigger and better things if they so desire, elsewhere. Not a bad gig if you ask me.

oh so true...

AUTHOR: Bocsux - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 13, 2007

Its true, the trainers only get $6 per session. I just quit LA Fitness, but i'm still friends with a few of the trainers and they always talk about how the money sucks. When people are paying anywhere from $30-$50 per session and the trainers are only getting $6 of it, something is wrong. How do they justify that? Well they like to say its because the managers get the trainers their clients so since they don't have to work hard to get thier clients they shouldn't make more than that. Horse Crap!!

And I know that the trainers get to split the commission if they set up the client for their orientation, but the managers are shady and most of the time don't even split the commission unless the trainer comes to them and asks for it. I hated when they would sit up front and laugh about how they just signed a big deal and didn't split the commission with the trainer, and say 'if they ask about it i'll just tell them i'll pay them cash for it and they'll probably forget... haha... more money for me!', they're such jerks.

Computer Issues

AUTHOR: Marcus - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 08, 2007

Body of Change is a company which prides itself in providing high levels of customer service, integrity and a committment to excellence. This comment is based on incorrect information. Computer systems are not perfect and sometimes have internal problems. BOC is dedicated to providing it's customers with memorable service. Body of Change's philosophy is to treat every customer as though they were our favorite celebrity, hero, friend, neighbor, or grandma.

I hope anyone reading this site realizes that with any company there are issues to be solved which is why BOC utilizes internal audits, mystery shoppers and quality assurances practices to improve its product. We are a servant company and our goal is to serve our customers beyond their expectations. The time we spend with each client is important to us and we value each person's trust in our services to improve their health goals. Our employees strive to be professional, courteous and most importantly NICE.

Don't do business with these people

AUTHOR: Craig - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 28, 2007

There is a simple solution. Don't do business with people who mistreat their employees or rip off their customers. This country would change quickly if we all did our part and stopped patronizing these businesses, no matter how good the deal may sound.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Nice Rebuttal it must had come from either Justin Rivers or Kyle (VP's Texas).

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

It is true that Body of Change has service issues, quality control problems, employee retention problems, inexperienced management, etc.

This is a sales based organization. Body of Change has no long-term strategic goals to change or repair any of these internal issues nor had I have met anyone that possesses the skills/education/initiative to write quality directives to make these changes for overall improvement.

Anyone planning on purchasing training or considering employment with this organization should be aware that this company is a "Sales Based" organization, like most sales based organizations their interests isn't in their employees nor clients (after they sign the training contract/agreement).

I'm sorry about your friend losing his job, but it was probably a blessing.

What?!

AUTHOR: Capdan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 21, 2007

OK this is in response to the LA fitness representative who complained about Body of Change or is it USA PT? Whatever the hell we are. I work for Body of Change and I can say the company could not care less about it's employee's. 6 bucks for a half an hour is what we get paid. Oh, as far as "certs" are concerned I do not have a bogus certification, but I was booted for no reason out of the system.

I found out why after 3 days of training people why it happened. Let's get one thing straight when we were Pro-results they asked for my cert, and then we changed to BOC, and they asked for my cert, about 6 months later BOC asked AGAIN for my cert, then again after another 6 or whatever months.

Each time I gave my cert to them no problem. You would think they have it on file but I am sure coporate is a mess with the in and out trainers who keep quiting who really knows why they do not have our certs on hand but that is my guess. Oh and maybe about 2 months ago they asked for guess what OUR CERTS by that time my cert was not returned back to me from the last time I gave it to my manager.

The people I trained wanted to set up appointments in through the computer system but since I was not in the system and quite frankly not even sure if I was still at BOC...let's put it this way I was not getting paid for all those free sessions I did.

I have had times when I trained a fellow and since I did not have his password wrote it into our exception log and trained him 4 times. He froze his account before I hanmded in my log. 4 free sessions for him I guess. This is the kind of stuff that happens and a lot worse actually.

Speaking of getting paid. 6 bucks for a half an hour. I had a client ask me how much we make out of the 40 bucks she pays and I laughed. She said "what like half" and then she said "what like 20" and I laughed and nodded no and just held my head down in shame and smiled. She said "what like 10 and I said "no six have a nice day and I'll see ya on Thursday". They cannot keep trainers there for long. You can ask any ex-employee and they'll tell you it is a joke.

A lot of people try real hard and really care about people but it is all about the money. They not only make money off you people for buying sessions, but they make off the trainers work.

someone is bitter

AUTHOR: Bocgv - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 14, 2007

The only reason trainers were exited out of the system was because either the certification they had was expired, or it was invalid/false. It is not the employer's fault the trainer did not keep current with their certification.

As for the computer being messed up. I have worked for the company for over a year. the only time sessions "disappear" is when a trainer adjusts their schedule and cuts out an hour they had a session. It is a computer user error not the computer.
