Bone Dry Waterproofing Inc. Free "inspection" is a scam. Louisville Kentucky

After noticing a small area of dampness in the  basement corner of a new house that I recenlty purchased, I decided to get have it inspected before I moved in. The leak occured after 2 days of unusually heavy rain. I decided to call B-Dry ( a national company) and Bone Dry (a local comapny). I was told that due to the rain it would be a week before they could see me. My appointment was scheduled for 2-9-16 at 8 A.M.

I received a call from Gene the eveniong before to confirm my appoinment. During the conversation, he said that I was looking at a $6-10k job. I found that odd since he hadn't yet been to my house but decided to wait and see what he found during the inspection. He called me this morning at 7:15 to again verify our meeting time.

I arrived at my new house promply at 8 to find Gene waiting. I took this as a good sign. I took him down to the basement and pointed to the area of concern. Gene walked away from where I pointed and started measuring floor space and telling me where they need to start jack hammering up the floor to fix the problem. He then went to the sump pump and declared that it was no good and he wouldn't tie in to exsisting equiptment. He spent another 10-15 minutes looking at pipes and telling me the best spot to intall new equipment. I finally interrupted him to ask when he was going to inspect the area of concern. He responded by telling me that he has done this for 20 years and deosn't need to look at it. I asked him what the point of the free inspection was if he wasn't going to inspect it. He again insisted that he didn't need to see it to know that my entire basement needed to be waterproofed. I started to tell him that I had done some research on the internet concerning basement leaks and wanted to make sure before I spent 10k on a repair that could be an easy fix. He told me that he didn't need to hear "any crap from some idiot on the internet because he knew what he was doing". At this point I informed Gene that I wanted him to exit my property because I clearly wasn't going to get the inspection that I had asked for. He told me that if I wanted to act like an idiot then he wasn't going to help me. I again asked him to leave. As he was packing up he bagan cursing and telling me that I had no clue what I was doing. I told him that he was correct, I know nothing about leaking basement's which is why I scheduled an inspection. He insulted and cursed me the entire way out of my house. After he left I called and asked to speak with the owner. The office manager explained that he was out and I told her what happened. She apologized and said he would call me ASAP. 3 hours later an no phone call.

This company clearly is only interested in trying to sell work that may not be needed. They falsley claim that they will perform a "free inspection" to get in to your home to try and take advantage of the consumer. At no point was anything offered to me other than a $6-10k "fix" without looking at anything in my house besides a perfectly functioning sump pump. This company should be ashamed of it's business practices.
