From day one, being with Boost Mobile has been a frustrating experience!

When trying to get service for the area I reside in, there were a number of information statistics I needed to provide to Boost. After 4 years of AWFUL service, and what can only be described as No Customer Service that was helpful.... I had been through enough!

I was referred to CC for better service and a Much Better Price! My friends were right! I Pay now LESS than a Quarter of what Boost calls a “Deal”! The price was an issue but we needed phones and at that time, there was a store in town that carried boost Mobile locally so that saved on driving into the city for any service issues or questions. Customer service was a big issue! Having the store close to home saved us from “calling customer service”.

When you call Boost CS, you find that Boost outsources their Customer Support lines. Which means, you are being connected to Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan or some other country where English is the second language!! You cannot understand their accent, some talk so fast you cannot understand them regardless of their English. They have a script to follow and if you need to deviate from it, good luck! They will continue with the script regardless of your issue or request.

Once past that and all the information they need to verify you are indeed the account holder, they May listen to your issue and what you want done to resolve it. Usually however, you will get a detailed rendition of their processes, policies and rules. You May or MAYNOT get your issue resolved at that point.

The serious issues started when I tried to transfer from Boost and port my number to another carrier! The experience of doing so I will never forget and have Never had an experience like this with any other company ever!

I called CC and asked about pricing, plans and service on a Thursday. I decided to switch as the pricing was phenomenal, so Friday morning I began the process !!! I would save a lot and 1 of the phones was already purchased out right we owned it, Boost should just unlock it so we can port the phone number, we had their service for so long that porting my number shouldn't be an issue either!

I called and requested that Boost unlock our phones so we could transfer to the new carrier. First let me say, porting phone numbers or transferring isn't a difficult task, I saw no issues since we owned the phones and had service with them for so long.. right. Again, I am connected to a person who I cannot understand, I asked her to speak slowly so I could understand her. I was polite and tried to listen to what she was saying. I was then given instructions as to what is needed to port the phone numbers. I would have to call CC again and gather information from them too. This went on for 5, FIVE DAYS !

The calls to CC were concise. All I needed to make the transfer complete are the acct. number, address, name and pin number. They would contact Boost for the porting and complete it. Boost does not give you YOUR account number.. ever! If you need it, you must call them, in turn, They must call you on your phone and after that, then you get Your account number! Seems ridiculous and when I asked the last Supervisor Why? Why is it that Boost has to call me and then tell me the account number? After they have asked me already the customary questions to insure I am the account owner? By that time, the CC phone had been already delivered, Boost had stated that the numbers were in process of porting, so I went ahead and charged the new phone { I thought it was an upgrade from the phone I had so purchased a brand new phone.} read the information in the welcome kit and proceeded to activate the phone. I then called Boost to get my account number and asked about the porting process. Now I find I cannot get my account number!!

Since Boost would have to call me on my phone and tell me my account number, I asked them to try it and see if they could make the call. The CS Rep said the call went directly to voice mail and if I wanted the account number I would have to pay for the service to be activated so they could call me. At this point they already are aware I am leaving Boost for another carrier, so why would I pay $100.00 just so I can get MY Account Number?? It is My account, I have every right to know the information that is on my account.

Why is it that they must call Me oh my phone just to tell me MY account Number? I was told, “New Policy”. At this point I am frustrated beyond belief yet the next insult hits me. This CS Rep. Tells me that the second line cannot be ported! Instead of asking why, I tell the Rep. We bought the phone, it is not a Boost phone, we purchased it with the understanding that in owning it we could change carriers at any time and there would be no issues! Now we are told, Boost requires that new phones remain in service through Boost for 1 year before they can be transferred or ported!

Other carriers require different lengths of time but Boost requires 1 year. The second phone was bought because the phone had been damaged. It had only been in service for 9 months. After 4 years of service not missing a payment and they are refusing to port my number over to the new carrier? I was livid by that time!

I called CC to inform them of the situation. Boost refused to give me my account number and now they refused to release the second phone because it was 3 months shy of a years worth of service on it. After 5 days of fighting boost over my account number and the fact I owned the second phone I finally called CC and asked them if we could simply receive new phone numbers? Yes! Now we could finally rid ourselves of Boost Mobile! It took a few minutes, we had new phone numbers, working phones and peace!

The hoops you MUST jump through are ridiculous!!! You do not have or were never given Your Account number! You must call Boost and then they must call you on your phone to give you the account number... As for owning phones, beware! Apparently they expect customers to get new phone numbers every time they switch cellular companies! Boost Mobile doesn't save you any money and the ridiculous policies they refer to will cost you one way or another.
