Bose Factory Store Refund... Paid with cash... sending a check in 1-2 weeks Ripoff Destin Florida
*Consumer Comment: Cash refunds
*UPDATE Employee: Cash on Hand
I bought my husband some headphones last weekend... 01/19/06... Paid a little over $300.00 in cash... He didn't like the way they sounded... Thought they should sound better for the money they cost. He took them back today with the receipt 01/26/06. He was told they don't give cash refunds since they don't have that kind of money on hand... As much as all of their products cost, I find it very hard to believe they don't have any cash on hand. He was told they would send a check in 1-2 weeks... Honestly I don't think that is right... That is my opinion on the matter. Just wanted to share.

Cash refunds

I have purchased from Bose stores in the past and I know that they are very upfront about how refunds are handled. If you bothered to read the big sign near the register or the writing on your receipt, you would have seen that cash and checks are refunded by company check. All big stores are like that. Best Buy, Circuit City, heck even Wal-Mart have limits on the amount of cash they'll hand out in a refund. It's not necessarily that they don't have it in their store, it's more of a safety and loss prevention issue. You should be more thankful that Bose allows its customers to try things out and them return them without any restocking fess or nonsense like that.

Cash on Hand

First, it is true that many of our products are very expensive, some in excess of $4000. 99.9% of our sales are done with debit or credit card, in fact, in the 6 or so months I have been with the company, I have accepted less than 5 cash payments. This is because very few people feel comfortable carrying around multiple thousands of dollars in hard currency. Likewise, we feel safer not having that much cash on hand, because it makes our stores less of a target for robbery. The same principle applies to car dealerships and other such companies who deal in high-ticket merchandise. Ever heard of getting a refund on a $30,000 car in cash?
