Ordered an out of production Amplifier online from Heath Berkowitz (owner, Boston Guitar Works). It wasn't working when I received it so I contacted Berkowitz. He immediately went into defensive mode by telling me that there was a guy who was trying the amp out just before I had bought it and that it sounded fine and that he didn't know what I was talking about. I told him that this was impossible due to the nature of the problems and that I was going to take it in to be fixed after which I would be in contact with him. I took the Amp into a well reputed repair shop in Nashville.

They told me that someone had butchered the inside of the amp with bad and dangerous repair work especially to the power supply portion. They told me that there was a Boston Guitar Works sticker on the inside of the amp chassis.

I then contacted Berkowitz and confronted him on his shoddy repair work and his pretending that he didn't know what I was talking about. After a couple weeks of dealing with his ridiculous emails trying to avoid responsibility I told him I was going to sue him. He then agreed to send a check for the full repair amount which he never did. His agreement to pay and the day he was going to send it was also through email.

Not only a thief but a stupid one.

This guy is the typical dirty businessman. In addition to the above, He lists reissue products as vintage.

For instance on his website, He has the reissue DOD 250 overdrive listed under "vintage effects" for a price of $125.00.

That DOD reissue pedal costs $39.95 to $49.95 from any reputable music shop and a real vintage one is in the $250.00 range.

So you're supposed to think you're getting the real thing at a great deal because what bozo would be trying to get 125.00 + shipping for a common 40.00 + free shipping item?

Well there is a bozo that goes by the name of Heath Berkowitz who is trying to do just that.

Steer clear of this shop. Musician's friend, Sam Ash and Guitar Center are the legitimate places to go and have better prices. If your looking for vintage stuff, Ebay is the way to go. And even if you have to repair your vintage gear at least you didn't have some untalented guitar player claiming to be "AMERICA'S PREMIER GUITAR BOUTIQUE * Offering The Highest Quality GUITARS, AMPS, and FX" lying to you.

p.s. Yes I will be taking him to court to recoup the repair costs.

AUTHOR: Heath - (U.S.A.)

most of what this guy is saying is false. he bought an amp and said it needed to be repaired. i was willing to help him until he started threating me. he doesnt know what hes talking about. the sticker hes reffering to must have been an old brockton music sticker from like 1994 since we have never had any boston guitar stickers. this amp was probably bought and sold by us 3-4 times. for him to incinuate that anyone from my store was inside the amp recently is incorrect. we werent. maybe one of the people we sold it to was, but how would i know that? like i said we sold this amp a few times over 15 years, so who knows what went on. bottom line is that i offered to pay for the repair but changed my mind when this guy became abusive and threatning. this is a 200.00 amp. we mostly specialize in high end gear, so i certainly wasnt worried about a couple of hundred dollars.

also the dod pedal he refers to is a vintage pedal that is worth 125.00. he has no idea what hes talking about. just because companies reissue stuff that cost much less, that has nothing to do with vintage pieces. thats like saying a 54' strat isnt worth 60,000 cause fender makes a new reissue for 3000.00.

anyways like i said i would have helped this guy, but didnt take kindly to his threats. still waiting for him to take me to court ;)
