I started playing at Bovada in Nov. 2017 when I bought in for a small tourney just to try my luck. I actually placed 4 for approx. $500. Then again, very shortly after cashing out that money, I started losing more frequently. I played some blackjack with bonus funds that I was not able to cash out until I reached and certain amount and in addition, had to play off a certain amount before cashing out. Third, I finished 2nd in a tournament and cashed out for $1500. As I attempted to cash my money out, this company called me to walked me through setting up a Coinbase acct so that they could pay me in Bitcoin vs sending me a check. All of this happened in late Nov mid Dec. and I actually thought for a change that there is a website that offered fair play. I don't expect to win all the time but nonetheless was able to win. Ive studied poker and played on and off for years. However, after cashing out and continuing to play on Bovada and Ignition poker, it is apparent that something seems fishy.

I generally play tournaments because I don't trust cash games... but I will take eventually play some cash to find out if what I believe is true. Things that I notice on a continue basis are as follows. 1) When being dealt very strong or even the best starting hands I either get no action or suffer from an outstanding suckout or unrealistic beat. For example, I will get dealt QQ (which I was dealt 4 times this evening) 1st time no action, 2nd time, very small pot, 3rd time, no action, 4th time I get shoved all in after raising only to call; finding myself going against AQ. This means I'm a 60% favorite to win the hand. The board set me up for a straight draw on top of that but the turn graciously gave someone with a lot more chips the Ace to put me out of the tourney. This type of beat happens so frequently. 2)Small pocket pairs lose when I play with them but win when what seems like bots or maybe employees have them. Example, I notice that I will have a mid to small pocket pair which I understand you only hit trips approx. 20-30% of the time.

What I find is that that percentage only seems applicable to me when I'm playing them. Again, If I have them, either someone else has a higher pocket pair or in the event that I hit a set; what to my surprise, my opponent has a higher set. Or I never see any action with them. However in tourney play when the person with the highest chips calls an all in bet with very small pocket pair, they seem to always hit there set or just win with the small pocket pair. I know that may happen in a game but my issue is that its almost like its known when board will hit a set of trips or the opponents cards aren't gonna hit before it happens due to the amount of the bet that is called. A human consistently doesn't call those type of bets so quickly as experienced on these sites. 3)My final point and most frustrating point is being set with a winning hand only to be forced all in and find that my opponent is on a flush draw and always hit on the turn and/or river. The percentage of hitting flushes are considerable low yet, I see flushes on a consistent basis beat hands that generally have a higher percentage to win. For example, just happened to me in two tournaments that I played in today (both with QQ) in my hand. I raise (substantially) only to be called. The flop either lands me with a set (trips) or top pair. I raise and they re-raise me all in. Of course I call, only to find myself ahead while opponent holds a K or A high flush draw.... Guess what happens, the turn or the river hits the draw and I once again out of a tourney.

In summary, the reason why I added both Bovada as well as Ignition, is because they run off the same interface. I gave up on Bovada when I started noticing the these consistent bad beats... and then tried Ignition to see if I would see different results. And I can tell you that the results weren't any better at Ignition; in fact they were far worse with Ignition. I'm not saying that you cant win on these sites but it will be minimal and they will bait you in with the occasional win(s). But in the end, I found myself putting in more money then I was winning and had to quit while I am still ahead and just focus on playing at real life casinos. I hope this information helps anyone else see that you are not the only one going through this crap and to warn them that all these online sites (including BetOnline) are not as fair as they seem. They have seen the last of my money.
