I would like to share with you my very disappointing experience with the Museum. Recently I read about the Museum and explored thier  inventory. I was so very excited to come upon my dream car. I will be turning 66 and last year I was in the hospital and I really did not celebrate my 65th. Birthday. I decided to make my 66th Birthday very special. Recently I almost purchased two other Cadillacs, however after pre sale inspections both cars were canceled. After reading the directors comments (below)   I thought I finally found the car for me. .

I had the opportunity to purchase a "MUSEUM QUALITY" almost new Cadillac. I expressed such excitement over the purchase with my salesman. Twice in writing the salesman proclaimed the car "looked and drove like new" those were HIS written words. I could not wait to take delivery of my cherished present to myself. What could go wrong? I purchased a car from a trusted Museum and I paid a Musum price.

Friday afternoon I received a call from the transport company, my car would be arriving that evening, three days ahead of schedule. I was so excited, I felt so good. Nine PM the phone rings, its the driver come out and meet him at the entrance to the community. We go out there and wait for him to unload and drive the car to the gate, about one block away. He pulls up gets out, and hands the keys to me and states, "The car needs a major tune up and is overheating! It is also leaking something. The pit in my stomach felt like a tornado hit my body! I wanted to leave the car right there but it was not his fault. Getting into the car it became even worse.... The dashboard SERVICE ENGINE SOON light was  on. How could this be happening? I was assured by the salesman the car was prepped and they even put a new battery. Well after a very depressing evening I decided things cannot get worse, let’s go look at the car. Sitting in the driver's seat, all the dashboard vents are covered in thick dust. This is how the car was "Prepped" and both Tail Lights have cracks. Finally there is this active action of deception.... there is a splinter of wood holding the driver side mirror in place!

“We usually have around 300 museum quality pieces,” Glaze said. “That’s usually around 140 cars, and around 160 tractors and other pieces of farm equipment.”  With such a large inventory, Lawson said “she’s constantly spotting something that’s new to her."

Is this the experience a car buyer should receive from a Museum? I am afraid to bring the car in for its tune up. I can only imagine what else they will find wrong. This looks new and drives like new car, has minor splits in the leather door seam, the extremely worn out car mats were thrown in the front like garbage. Summing up this purchase was worse than buying from a used car dealer, after all they at least offer at least a few days or more warranty on the purchase. I truly feel that your salesman celebrated that he found another sucker of the hype. I would hope the Museum would offer to reimburse me for any car repairs that I spend next week, trying to make this into the car I expected to receive. I pray thatthere will be no major overhauling needed!

Following up the car spent 2 weeks at a National Chains Service Department. The summary of needed repairs done: Full Tune up, new power steering pump, new rear air shocks, new idler arms, all new tires (they were splitting),timing adjustment, transmissionm adjustment and the car still does not accellerate properly.I have spent close to $3000 and not it is at the auto body shop attending to some other items. i expect the bill to be another $1500. The aboove letter was sent to the Museum Director as well as Corporate Headquartersin Clearwater , Florida.  I have received no response.

Please think twice before trusting this Museum ....it truly is a Used Car Lot waiting for the next sucker!

JUNK YARD NOT A MUSEUM

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, October 30, 2017

FURTHER UPDATE.. The repairs being made are required for the car to run as it should. The car is at a very famous and reliable " place. The car has no acceleration because the fuel pump and filter were all clogged up, the sensors and electrical connections were all rotted out and needed replacement. The mileage based on this expert believes  was at least 72000 not 7200.  The carpeting is very worn, so  are the brake and gas pedals. The steering wheel shows excessive ware and tear as well. I am at $4500 in REQUIRED repairs and we have not started the bumper filler painting and replacement and other major required repairs. Is this a car that a MUSEUM would sell. Press releases state at anytime there are 150 MUSEUM QUALITY vehicles. This was a clear case of FRAUD. I believe a customer should have a certain level of honesty and quality when buying a car from a museum. What you delivered to me was a car from a local used car lot. The book value of a car in this condition to me was about $10000 not $18500 that I paid. I never signed the bill of sale. I was a trusting consumer that received two e mails from my salesman that stated "The car looked and drove like new" I am sure there was a lot of celebration that this sucker took your bait. How can  any of the salesman sleep at night. I will provide both mechanic's information if you challenge anything that the work being performed was required or elective.

IT IS A USED CAR LOT NOT A MUSEUM

I never received this response.?I have no idea who you are. Second I never dealt with anyone named Ron. Third I never received a "Buyers Guide" 4th: I never signed a AS-IS Bill of sale. I did discuss the bumper fillers, however I was never told they were only sold primed needing painting and placement by a body repair shop. This repair being 5x the cost I was led to believe. What reputable car dealer sends a car out with the dashboard covered in a layer of dust? I believe the delivery driver confused the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light wiith an overheating condition. Again I ask, who ships a car out with this condition. If you think I am lying about any repair item, I would be happy to provide the National Auto Repair Mechanic that worked on the car for Two weeks and basically has waved the white flag regarding the acceleration issue. On Two occasions your salesman wrote to me , and yes I still have the e mails stating the car looks and drives like new. If you can find anyone on the panet that thinks I received a ""Museum quality Automobile " rather than an automobile valued at a used car lot, I have "Prime" Florida land for sale. I can sleep at night knowing I am telling nothing but the truth, can your salesmen do the same. Yes a sucker is born everyday, and in this case it was it was ME! Neil New Port Richey,Fl.

____ kindof odd you say you never recieved any response This is what i sent you "This is the response you recieved on 9/8/17 must just ignore what you dont want hear. "Dear ____ I have reviewed your email of 9/7/17 in refernce to your purchase of the 1985 Cadillac. I am truly sorry for your disappointment. The following is my finding while looking into this matter. Your salesman that you dealt with and struck the deal with was Rod. You were welcometo come inspect the vehicle prior to purchase which you did not do. It was discussed that you could have an impartial local mechanic come look at and test the vehicle and share his opinion and findings directly with you. You elected not to do that as well. The cracks you mentioned were photographed and discussed with you on a few occations so you were aware of them. During loading the driver loaded it in a few different locations before settling on its traveling location. This process took over 45 minutes and the vehicle did not over heat during this entire process. But you state when the driver unloaded it and drove it the one block it is overheating and needs a major tune up. Attached please find the buyers guide which you have one in the paper work supplied with your purchase. The vehicle was purchased as is were it states that you will pay all costs for any repairs. The dealer assumes no responsibility for your repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. In your email to me you state that you are bringing the car to the condition any consumer would expect and you will seek any and all avenues for restitution. I am just reaching out to you to reiterate that the dealer assumes no responsibility for your repairs so you can keep this in mind while you are approving your repairs. I am sorry for your disappointment but i wanted to address the issue of the repairs so that way you would be clear in knowing that any and all repairs are your responsibility"

It may not have been the response you wanted to read but Branson Auto and Farm Museum is not going to restore the car with you. If you want to put new tires shocks and tune up that is fine there is no reason to expect us to do it with you.

For a 1985 Cadillac It ran and idled fine when it left our location we wish you the best on your restoration.

Sincerely
