Flying from Washington DC to Delhi India, via United Airlines to Heathrow, then British airways to Delhi (and reversed coming back). British airways told us our carryon baggage (that United Airlines had no problem with) would have to be checked from Heathrow to Delhi, and they did this at the gate without major incident. We were told that the return flight would not be a problem.
Checking in at the Delhi airport for our return flight home.... it became a very expensive problem. One that British airways charged us $320 for. The $320 was for them to check our same two carryon bags. They had told us in Heathrow that we would not be assessed any charges for the extra baggage.

Dear Jane,
We are seeing this type of a response from "consumers" who try to cover-up an error or deception on the part of a business.
It's like you are saying: "Hey, Big Business WILL find a way to rip-off you off --- just accept it and try to be more clever than they are in the future."

Take Responsibility For Yourself

As an ex airline employee (not BA) I would suggest you read the airlines rules and regulations, very cleary available to you. Don't complain because you can't be bothered to read them, take responsiblity for your own actions, or lack of them, and stop whining. BA did not rip you off - you just think you shouldn't have to pay for their service.
