Broadstar Broadstar's service is really really really bad on every level. They are holding my community captive. Our HOA entered into an agreement with BroadStar to provide our gated community of Heron's Glen (a community of 1,200 homes), here in North Fort Myers, FL with internet, cable TV and phone. There service is very very very inconsistent. Your phone suddeny dosn't work for days. Your internet goes on and off intermittently on a continual basis. The TV may or may nor work - no audio, no channels. This company misrepresented. Most in the community thought our land line was being replaced with a land line - not - it is VOP and as previously noted not very reliable and the sound quality is often bad. It is hard to reach BroadStar and when you do you feel sorry for the staff as they are continually being screamed at by unhappy frustrated customers. They also misbill for the telephone adding charges for which are supposed to be iincluded in your plan with them. Do not let your HOA bring in this company to your community. West Palm Beach Florida

Do not let your HOA community switch to BroadStar.  They have misrepresented themselves and are not providing the service my community is paying for.  4 years ago my community HOA of Heron's Glen here in North Fort Myers, FL (a gated community of 1,200 homes) signed a contract with BroadStar to provide internet, phone and cable TV.  The company misrepresented, most people thought our land lines would be replaced with land lines.  Not - the phone is VOP.  It will go down for days.  The quality of the audio is terrible constantly breaking up - difficult to have a conversation with anyone.  The phone is supposed to be free calling North America wide.  When, I switch off vacation mode my bill includes charges for calls to Canada.  Isn't Canada in North America? They reverse it but only after you are on hold for up to an hour trying to get through to a customer rep.  

Oh yes - when they pulled the plug from Century Link On January 1, 2010 - the internet and phone did not work for 4 months - we were left high a dry.  

The internet goes off and on.  You can be without service for days.

The Cable TV - unreliable - do not get anything.  No sound, no menu.  They drop channels without advising (in disputes with many mainstream companies - Fox for example).

In a nutshell BroadStar's service is really really really bad.  It's worse than bad.  I feel sorry for their customer service reps as they are constantly being shouted at by unhappy frunstrated clients. You are on hold for up to an hour waiting to get through to a rep.  Not a good experience.
