Broadway Photo & Video Bait-and-switch operation, liars, rude Brooklyn New York

I urge everyone out there to stay far away from Broadway Photo & Video. Check the Better Business Bureau's website to see the horrible review for yourself. Also check on the web for everyone else's horror stories (they are extremely easy to find). Basically the prices listed on their website are completely fake. They bait you in with low prices online, only to call you the next day to let you know what you ordered is not available....that is unless you are willing to fork over some more $$$$.

A typical Broadway Photo story goes like this. 1) You see a camera on their website listed for much less than every where else and decide to buy it. 2) You get a call from a sales rep who says he wants to verify your shipping address. 3) He then tells you that the camera you ordered basically won't work without a few upgrades (extended battery, high-speed memory card, etc. They will even try to switch lenses on you.

If you decide that you just want your original purchase, they will tell you that it is either no longer in stock or on back order. If you question it they will just hang up on you. If you decide to buy some of the upgrades and then find out afterwards that you've been had, you can return the items after paying a ridiculous shipping fee (my 5 lb. package cost $80 for ground delivery) and a 15% restocking fee (they list a minimum of 5% but don't fall for it).

Here is another great thing about Broadway Photo....you can't return anything without their permission. Has anyone heard of anything so ridiculous? After fighting with them over the phone for a half an hour they finally agreed to take my purchase back.

If you have already bought from Broadway Photo and are having reservations, make sure to contact your credit card company. They will help you fight these guys.
